Distance to Dealership

I am considering buying a new TSX in the next month or two (saving to put at least 60% down). The closest Dealerships to me are in St. Louis which is about 100 miles away. The distance may cause a problem for me for service. Also, not being familiar with the Dealerships leaves me a bit uneasy. I am sure there are many of you who have purchased from a Dealership as far or farther away, so I am curious if distance has been a problem for anyone. Also any input on St. Louis Dealerships would be appreciated!

It's a problem for small problems like rattles, a loose seat, etc. Especially because the dealer wants to keep the car over-night most of the time. I have a rattle in the driver's door that's most annoying, and can't get it fixed until I go visit my parents.

I also have a moving driver's seat... :sqnteek: No fun.

Loopa, the closest dealership to me is the one in Cleveland - just 20 miles away. However, their sales people were so awful that I decided to buy my TSX from the dealer in Akron, which is about 45 miles away. I am very happy with their sales and service people, so I keep going back for everything.

There is another Cleveland dealership coming soon (Jay Wolfe) and that's also much closer than the Akron one. Maybe they will be worth visiting?

Thank you for the replies, I really want the TSX I am just feeling a bit nervous about the distance for warrantied repairs. On the other hand, from what I read, TSX seems to be a very reliable car so maybe I shouldn't get hung up on that as much.
Thanks again.

The closest dealership to me was an hour away...~60 miles. No problems taking my car out there for regular maintenance cause there's a nice mall in the area and nice restaurants.. But I had to take my car in to get my brakes checked and had to leave my car overnight but my sales guy failed to warn me that I had to be over 25 to get a loaner from them...but they ended up paying for most of the rental car.

So make sure you ask your dealership about the age requirement for getting a loaner and if you are unable to get a loaner, make sure they'll pay for a rental.

Unless it's some warranty related issue the dealer should be of no concern. Get all of the maintenance done locally or by yourself. The 14 year old Civic in my household has been to the dealer a grand total of TWO times and one of those was a recall. My 5 year old Accord has NEVER been to the dealer except when it was delivered.

Thanks for the replies. Biker - That's exactly what I wanted to hear! The best scenario is -not- having to go to the dealer at all! Of course if I should have an issue, Like TSX R US, I am certain I can find a mall!!!
You guys talked me into it.....
