Did my car get damaged from towing?

Okay, I parked where I shouldn't have and my car got towed. It looks okay (with the possible exception of a very minor scratch under the front bumper, which might have been there already) and seems to drive okay. The tow was less than 1 mile on local roads. Is there anything I should check to make sure?

If the guys at the towing company did it right, there should be no damage.

Do you know if they used a flatbed or a wrecker type tow truck?

I think it was a wheel lift (or wheel something) type truck. One thing that concerns me is in the manual it talks about shifting into neutral before towing, which obviously wasn't done, and I'm concerned something could have happened to the transmission. I also don't know if they towed from back or front. My car was parket front in when I left it, and back in at the tow yard. I have an auto transmission if that matters.

sorry to hear about that... it's very possible for your car to get messed up during a tow - many of those drivers drive at full spead with your car in tow (i know, i had to have my truck towed and got a lift at the same time - i was gripping the seat because i thought my truck was going to rip right off the tow truck).

and those guys don't have a lot of finess with there cable chains either.

Usually they'll tow from the front. If they didn't, your car wouldn't be driving anywhere.

Most tow trucks are equipped with a dolly that be used on the front wheels even if the steering is locked and trans in park. It's a little four-wheel unit, you've probably seen them on the backs of the tow trucks.
