did anyone update navi to 2014?
I've been using google on my phone for years. I recently got my 08tsx and love it but the navi is from 07... I got a notice in the mail to upgrade it for a hundred dollars or so. Has anyone gotten it and liked it?

I purchased Acura nav update for my 03 MDX and was pleased w/ rapid installation. I haven't had much chance to check it out.
I sold my old 2011 disc (3A0) on ebay for $50 very quickly.
good luck

I believe if you want to upgrade, upgrade because there are too many new businesses spawning up in your area. I will eventually upgrade mine (currently at 2011) because in my area, a ton of new businesses are leaving and adding. The nav has brought me to a few closed businesses when I was looking for places to grab food so I will be upgrading soon.

Cool, I'm gonna try and get a 2012 or 2013 then and use it as a backup to my phone. I really wish Acura would have gotten on board with google maps or if it was possible to upgrade my car's processor to handle/upgrade to new firmware.
Thanks for the help guys

2014 is the last year update for the 2004 TSX. That would be the one I would want. I haven't bought any updates for my 04. I would only want to spend the money once, especially with the prevalence of smartphone GPS.

i updated and it was alright... i bought a used TSX and had to have the navi fixed and the disc was still the 03. I was using the phone most of the time but the reason i decided on getting it was because i like to go on camping trips and the last one i went on, the phone had no reception so the navi came in handy but didn't have all the right roads.

I upgraded to the 2014 disc on my 04 TSX, it was NIGHT AND DAY difference, much better and more detailed. Well, anything would had been better since the disc I took out was the original disc that was sold with the car 10 years ago. I got the 2014 for $99 before tax and shipping. HOWEVER, there is still one pet peeve of mines and that is finding coffee or a specific store isn't as easy as the NAVs on the phone when you go to the place by name.

If I'm lucky and a good coffee shop is close, that shows up too. But yes, finding a specific store (or a specific coffee place) isn't easy unless the phone number is in the database (and you happen to know it).

2004 TSX NAV 5AT MSM

In any case, I have updated my NAV almost every year since I bought my 2004 TSX in April 2003. It has been worth the upgrade for me because I sell my previous version on eBay for nearly what I paid for the new version. The 2014 update is $99 until July 6th after which it goes back up to $149.
In my case the NAV systems like the one in my 2004 TSX that use the ORANGE DVD's, 2014 is the final year for updates. So since it was on sale for $99, the final year it will be updated, I plan on keeping my car for a good while and I knew I could (and I did) sell my 2013 update for what I bought the 2014 update for, it was a no-brainer.
For your 2008 TSX you use the White DVD updates that will probably be around for a number of years at least (especially since the 2012 RL and RDX use them). If you use your NAV system a lot and plan on keeping the car for a while, sure I would buy the update now for $99 while you can (by July 6th). If you use eBay you can probably even make some money from the 2007 update disc you have. In fact, I just did a eBay search and a 2007 White Acura Update DVD sold for $39.99 just 3 days ago.
