DeBadge L& R Trunk Symbols..
I recently saw a TSX with only the "A" acura symbol in the middle.
The Left "Acura" and Right "TSX" were gone. It looked VERY very good. I was surprised the difference, it had a simple chrome TSX plate frame that seemed to compliment the look even more.
Question is are the badges on by just adhesive or drilled in? I've debadged a few Benzes for my other cars and came out fine.
Car is an 05 with about 70k miles. Paint in great condition but cant tell underneath.

The right and left badges are not drilled in, just held on by sticky tape sort of stuff. Just do the usual debadging for it and you'll be set. The "A" on the trunk, however, will leave two holes needing you to shave it and repaint if you want it all removed. It's secured in there as well as double sided taped. I debadged my car and left the "A" there too as have many members.

^+1. I doubt the difference, if any, would be noticeable. And Goo-Gone is perfect for the extra residue. Be sure to have a paper towel or cloth under the area so it doesn't drip down your car. I like to wash and wax my car after the use of goo-gone too since some ppl say it clears off the wax and you can tell when placing water on there. It doesn't bead well or anything. You can simply spot wax too and you'll be fine.

Dental floss to get the bulk of it off, use goo gone on a rag to wipe off the rest that still sticks to the car. Put the rag under where the stuff is, then pour goo gone onto the tape that's left, letting it soak in. It comes off real easily if you let it soak in goo gone. Clay and wax to get rid of the shadow that's left behind, or polish it like I did to completely remove the marks. You may have to do that

use a blowdryer, strong dental floss and a lot, i mean a lot of goo gone, it looks a lot better with just the A, i have the TSx chrome license plate frame as well, love the overall look

okay so i did my debadging today and it came out somewhat good but didnt come out as my expectations were set out to be.. so i poured goo gone on the emblem first (acura) then i used dental floss and took it off.. there was that bulk sticky stuff still on there.. poured more goo gone and let it sit and still did not come off. nothing at all. so did some searches on google and found out a guy on another acura forum used a lighter to take off the bulk. and some said it would affect the paint... so i was desperate and didnt want to drive around with a 1/2 acura tape sign.. so bought a lighter and lit it on the bulky tape and started coming off.. had to rub it so a roll of glue came together.. finally took me a while to get all the stuff off.. but left there is still small tiny spots of sticky stuff.. you can see from close distance... and from what i can tell the lighter did not affect my paint.. so i was wondering.. what went wrong?? did i not use the goo gone right?? and what is a good way to remove the small tiny spots of sticky stuff left or do people who did the debadging have those small spots?? or is it spotless clean??

Too much goo gone maybe. If it gets too soaked the rag just can't grip it to pull it off. Try again once it dries up. Put it on the rag not the car. Keep working at it, it'll come off. I had the same problem but got it.

Leave the car in the sun for a few hours, a blow dryer or heatgun helps a lot. let the goo-gone dwell or a few minutes so that it soaks through all the glue. Fish line to get behind it, and a little bit of elbow grease. Wax/seal the area that you goo-gone afterwards.

Yea Wong did it like me. Always want the glue/tape loose when removing it. I used a hair dryer (heat gun is better) and applied heat for a while on the emblems. Once pretty warm you take dental floss (fishing line is stronger) and run it behind the emblem slowly but strong. It should remove most if not everything there regarding the tape/goo. Then goo-gone the left over residue with a rag under as suggested. Then wash and wax the area for protection and you're set. It's quicker and easiest with 2 ppl so one person can continually apply the heat if needed and the other strings the word off.
