Is the dealership ripping me off?
I have owned my TSX for exactly 2 years. It has 37000 kms (not miles) on it. I bring it in regularly for servicing at the dealership. During my most recent servicing, my car needed both its front and back brake pad changed b/c it's all gone according to the dealership. The fuel injector also needed servicing and the throttle body also needed to be cleaned. The dealership also told me I needed my brake fluid flush, transmission fluid changed, and power steering fluid flushed. I was reading my manual, and most of these services should be coming up on a later date (not 2 years). Am I right or is the dealership right?

I would say they are doing service early on you. However, having done the brakes myself, I noticed my fluid at roughly the same mileage as you, was VERY DIRTY. Now I live in the salt belt of the US and in a new housing development. PS fluid doesn't normally have a flushing interval.

Dealer servicing
Normally, the front pads wear at twice the rate of the rear pads... sounds very fishy that both sets have to be changed at the same time, especially after only 37000 kms. Of course, the rate of wear depends on where you drive (city, hwy), and your style of driving.
I've never had the power steering fluid changed in my Hondas.... the brake fluid flush can be ok... as for the tranny fluid... it's early IMO.
my beater car, Civic 97 has 210000+ km... and it's still on its ORIGINAL DRUM linings in the back... and the power steering fluid is still the original factory fill....
who's the dealer... or stealership in this case.....??

Anyhow.. I was looking at my tires.. it has never been rotated too even though according to the service receipt it has been rotated . I wonder what else they didn't do.

I checked with my source within Honda......The power steering fluid does NOT have to be changed at all. The operating temperatures of the fluid are well BELOW the point of deterioration.. so it's basically for the lifetime of the car....
the other fluids (tranny, brake ) do have to be changed, because they do deteriorate with time...
If the power steering fluid change is clearly indicated on your bill, I suggest you complain to Honda Canada, about this dealer's practices...

geesh you should have the courtesy of converting km to miles unless your question is specifically meant for Canadian members. :shakehead

anyway, the question should be is the dealership ripping you off on the price for all this work. The work being done sounds about right. they probably just figure since you are in they will perform all the service now
