Dead battery- 2 dry cells?

My GF is stranded at work, and pretty sure batt. is dead. Weird as its started fine all the time.

Anyways, a friend looked and said "2 of the cells were dry" I've never really paid attention to the battery, and just wondering bout his comment? hopefully battery will just take a charge..

When they go, they normally go hard. Every battery I've ever had die will start the car fine, until it doesn't. If its got 2 dry cells, its probably dead. She should be able to jump it. Once the car's started, the alternator provides more than enough electricity to run the car on. But, if she shuts the car down, it won't start again by itself, she'll have to jump it again. I recommend jumping it, and driving it straight to wherever she's going to have the new battery installed.

Now you know that it's not a no maintenance battery -- it's a low maintenance battery, and you really should keep electrolyte covering the plates. Having said that, the battery died on its own from old age, not abuse from you.
