OK, if nobody else has a better idea you can all come to my place... makes it real easy for me to show up

There's usually a reasonable amount of space in the lot leading into my cluster, but if we get many more than 10 people we might have to rethink it.

Here's a google map to my street. To get there from the Beltway, take the Dulles Toll Road west to exit 14, Hunter Mill Road. Turn left after the toll booth, then right at the T-junction onto Sunrise Valley Drive. Turn left at the second light onto South Lakes Road. You'll pass a shopping center on your right, then a lake, and then Whisperwood Glen Lane is the third street on the right. If you see a high school you've missed it. There should be plenty of parking spaces on the right between the two speed bumps on Whisperwood Glen (actually in the overhead shot I linked to there's more cars parked in that strip than average).

What about public lots?

I know that there are a number of less used public parking lots here in Silver Spring where we might be able to park towards the top of the lot and be out of the way.

Well I count at least 4 people showing up from MD so far and only two from VA, so that's probably a better idea.

Either way, you're the mod, what you say goes

If only it were that easy...

I was thinking the public lot might be better since we'll be able to get lighting well into the evening since it's lit from the inside and it'll be cooler to work in during the day since there's protection from the sun. Plus, we can do a photoshoot once the cars are finished.

We'll see what the others say before we make a final decision.

An indoor garage would definitely be better, it's definitely going to be either crazy hot or raining and either way working inside will be an advantage.

How good is the lighting in those lots? Most indoor garages I've been in I'd probably consider too dark to work in.

Well, if we're up towards the top, the lighting should be okay, especially if we're near where the garage opens up to the open air area of the lot, which can't be accessed unfortunately.

Maybe I'll go and check it out in a little bit.

So I went and looked and sure enough, it should be sufficiently well lit near the top of the building for us to work. Plus, even on a weekday, the top areas of the structure are nearly totally empty so I think there should be no problem for us to do the work there.

The public garages right next to the Silver Spring metro station. Usually they are used for commuter parking, but since there are no commuters on weekend, it should be nearly empty.

Did you consider that perhaps how you feel is actually how you are?

Well we can use my father in law's place in Herndon if you guys want, his garage has a ton of lighting, I do all my work there. I'm not sure how long I'll be at the meet if it starts at 2, its my best friend's bday, so the earlier the better.

My car wont be done till May 10th or so, is that ok ben for swapping the sills and headlights?

As long as he doesn't mind us being there and everyone don't mind the drive. I don't think we'll be all that long since Ben's got most of his stuff done already. We just need to do my suspension and sway bar, which will be the most time consuming items, but with plenty of hands, there should be enough people to work on and help with other stuff.

I realize that, but I figured that with two people working simultaneously, it should take no more than 30 minutes per corner.

Everyone else can work on the other stuff that needs to be done.

Yeah, I can bring some distractions for the idle hands. I got a few more pieces myself, but I'm worried some things won't be here in time.

Anyway, if someone could show me how to remove the back seat while I'm there, it would be totally helpful. I need to do some cable management and mount my amp anyway.

Sorry to ummm... barge in like this unexpected and off topic, but I just had to ask.

Are you really getting rid of your car TSX.Fury? I've been out of the loop for some time

If so, bold move.

Again, to in.

By all means, please, continue...

Xizor, any confirmation about your father-in-law's place?

As for everyone else, let's tenatively set the location for Herndon at xizor's suggested location and if that falls through, we can use the public garage in Silver Spring as a backup.

I can be there to start at 12 or 1. I know that Ben won't be there till after 2 so maybe we'll have to do the sway bar separate from the rear suspension.

How early can you start?

I'll try to get there early, I just don't know how sucessful I'll be. And you could do the rear sway separate, I would just remove the stock rear sway, do the rear suspension, and then wait for me to get there with the Comptech. Getting the rear assemblies out without taking out the rear sway is a bitch.

Well I can start as early as 10. sunday is my friend's bday and he wants to watch the lakers (lose) at 3:30pm, so I'm trying to work around it. Maybe we should just do it at the silver spring garage so it's not dependent on my schedule?
