So Ive lived with the rattle from my cusco bar and my cat heat shield for over a year now and have finally moved back to orlando to run over a little median thing and rip the plastic under guard of the oil pan. First question I want to ask is how important is that plastic shield? I know it protects the oil pan and stuff, but must I really get a new one? Second, does my cat really need the heat shield or can I just take it off permenently so it wont rattle against my cusco bar cause the rattling got worse since the little accident and now it rattles not just at first gear acceleration, but at other gears and at idle now! Thanks for the advice in advance...

 

The shield is not of dire importance. It will go ahead and help with aerodynamics from their testing, reduces drag. I don't have it on there and plenty of other ppl don't with no issues. So you don't have to get another one.

As for the heat guard idk much about that, that might just be up to you. I've def heard of that as being an issue with the rattling though. GL.

 

When I first put my Cusco brace on I took off my heat shield with no issues. I've ultimately taken off my brace b/c when I put on my CT header and testpipe the the flexpipe rattled against the brace all the time. My 2-pc. header never rattled against the brace, but the 1 pc. CT does. Go figure.
