CPO But wouldn't stat!

Went to check out a CPO 2006 Acura TSX 6spd with navi and 35k on it asking 19k The car looks flawless and looks great on the inside too! Only problem was that it doesn't start!! The battery was dead when I tried to start it.

The car seems a little new to require a new battery already. Is there something about 06's that have a battery problem such as a parasitic drain or something along those lines? Or is it that this car just happened to have a drained battery.

Salesman said it was due to it sitting on the lot, but I'm sure it'd take at least 3 weeks for the battery to die.

When I tried to start it, it didn't crank, the lights came on very dimly and the navi would barely power up.

What do you guys think?

The tsx gets an awfully small and weak battery chances are, you replace it will be fine.

Both of my stock batteries failed after 2 years, weak charge and weak start up espcially when it was cold here in buffalo.

Even jump starting it helped but then signs of struggle start appeared after awhile.
replaced it eventually no problem yet so far with the new battery.

and where are you located? because yes a battery will die down pretty quick after sitting for awhile. we had to basically carry a jump box around with us all the time.
just tell them to put a new one in.

Thanks guys. Seems like TSXforums.com confirms that the stock battery sucks. A new battery under acura warranty should remedy this situation. Looking to negotiate pricing this Tuesday evening.

I've had my car for 2 1/2 years, (it's 3 years old with about 58,000 miles on it right now, and was CPO), and the battery has already had to be replaced twice under warranty.

Take that FWIW.
