CPO 07 TSX $21k worth it?
Surprisingly one of my local Acura dealerships is selling a few 07 TSXs for just under $21,000. One that I found was an 07 with 23,500 miles for $20,888. I went to inspect it today and with the exception of one 1" wide scratch on the front bumper (touch up painted) and another one on the bottom lip of the front bumper it looks great. Underbody looks good too. NADA is listing these at $22,000 but I've seen local dealers going as low as 18,500. Should I try to knock them down to $20k? It's been reduced but has been sitting for about 3 weeks. It was leased Dec 9th so I have just under 2 years on the CPO should I purchase it. It's between this car and a new car made by Toyota (won't mention the model because some will think I'm nuts).

If it's the VENZA, I'm totally with you...in that brownish bronze color...something about that car is sweet.
If you have seen the TSX going for 18500 I would push for that and don't settle. 20 out the door is a nice round number and probably one they will go for.

I didn't want to sway the responses by saying I was looking at a Camry. Not into the new Accord/Civics because I just don't like them for one reason or another. There are two CPOs with 35k-39k miles going for $18,700 to 19,000, so with the lower mileage I think a good number to aim for is $20,000 plus TTL unless anyone else thinks or has purchased one for less.

The one thing I have been reading on two posts is that people have been having issues with their axles. Normally on my older Hondas I have not needed to change these until the boots actually cracked. Is this a common issue just like the door actuators?

Mileage is something that you shouldn't need to be too concerned about at all, especially if you end up going with a CPO which gets an extended warranty from Acura. You are, however, paying extra for that certification. You may be able to get the car without the extended warranty for less, which is what I did.
From what I understand, buying with CPO tacks on an additional $1500-2000. 23k miles is pretty darn low and you'd have the remainder of the 4yr/50k warranty. That being said, $20k + TTL for CPO sounds pretty good.

Thanks...I'm working on the price now. Hopefully they will reduce it by 1k (for taxes). Is the CV issue on the earlier models also a problem on the 07's? What about the oil burning. I can take the door actuator issue and can fix these pretty easily.

The door lock actuator problem seems chronic, though I doubt widespread. I had a 92 Honda Accord that suffered the same problem back in 95 (I'd suspect a weak supplier, but the same problem 15 years later?). The car was just out of warranty, so I wrote to Honda about it and expressed my disappointed. They responded right away and actually sent me a reimbursement check (ironically, I had it fixed at an Acura dealer since it was in a more convenient location)(the same dealer I bought both my TSX's at years later actually).

Thanks to everyone for their advice/input. I decided to pull the trigger and bought it for $20,300. They wouldn't budge past that so I went for it.

BTW, on the CV and Axle issue, you can check my thread in problems and fixes, but I just took it in to the stealership and they diagnosed as a tire problem (read my post there for all the details). I think you're really going to enjoy your car for a long time.
As a side note, and a bit off-topic, I leased my car in April 2007 and I'm coming up on the end of my lease. I have decided to just purchase the car and keep it for a while, maybe another 3-5 years. The original purchase price was $28,032 (got it $250 under invoice) plus TTL (and no dealer doc fees), and my residual is $17,xxx (don't remember the exact number). Not bad at all if you consider I'm purchasing my car for almost $3,000 less than what they're going for as a CPO.

I figured out where the oil life finally was and was surprised it was only at 60%. So they either didn't reset it or they didn't change it. No big deal as I want to change the oil sooner than later anyway.
I was reviewing the CPO checklist and they didn't give me the valet key so I'll call them up tomorrow and see if they can mail me that.
As far as the floor mats, this is what the CPO checklist says:
"Floor mats (replace mats, unless current model)"
The floormats that I have are the originals as the driver's side one is discolored. Since this isn't the current model I'm assuming that they should have been replaced.
Everything else so far looks ok and the engine bay was very clean.

Congrats on your purchase!
My recently purchased CPO car was also missing the valet key, which I had to ask for. As for the floor mats, I would go back and ask them about that. The dealer I bought my car from said they always put brand new floor mats, wrapped in plastic, in every CPO car they sell. (Also, the oil life was at 100%...I might ask them about, too.)
I bought my TSX in November, a CPO 2006 6MT with 27,100 miles, in like- new condition inside and out. It was listed on Acura.com's CPO site for $20,988...and I was able to negotiate with the dealer to get it down to $17,988. --So I think your deal sounds good.
I was not interested in the whole CPO thing initially, but came across this this car and realized it was worth doing. My certified warranty runs through May 2011, and the powertrain warranty through May 2013...which is great, considering I was looking at privately owned cars costing more or with more miles, that were obviously not certified. The the car was delivered in flawless condition, with a very nice experience at the dealer.

You guys should really befriend someone who has access to auto auctions. I'm looking, and low mileage 06-07's go for like $14k-$17k.
Of course these wouldn't be CPO's, for those who really want this (and I don't know what the process is for getting warranties on used cars).

For me it was either this deal or I was going to buy a Camry. I really didn't want the bland driving of the Camry but was almost forced to get it because of the current Acura/Honda lineup.
