covering warped rotors as "good will"
ok, so they said my rotors were warped through over heating...
so, thats not normal wear and tear, right? shouldnt that be covered then?
but dealer said they will cover this one time.

They turned mine as "a one time good will gesture" and replaced the pads at 21,000 miles. Course turning them only means they will heat up faster than before and probably warp again.

Next time you guys get a warped feeling in your brakes try scuffing the rotor with a coarse sand paper.
The warped feeling is most times not truely a warped rotor but un even pad material transfer to the rotor due to quick sudden stops. We used to think we had warped rotors on our Integra Type-Rs and Andie Lin of Cobalt showed us that the rotor wasactually fine and that it just needed to be cleaned up.
Just a suggestion.

In case you guys have not read the article Sauceman put up it is pretty much exactly what Andie from Cobalt was telling us as well. A Good read.

Definitely a good article. On a VW GTi I owned a while back, I watched my rotors get mic'd and they were definitely warped.
Eventhough I experienced a "warped" sensation on my TSX rotors, I wonder if it wasn't just some deposits... however, I got some INTENSE shaking from them.
I'm still glad I did the replacement though.

If you read the article closely they address uneven mic measurements and attribute that to pad deposits as well.
I have been readingt he rest of the back and forth of the thread and it looks like a lot of people can't let go of the warping theory. Cleaning the rotor with sand paper is so easy I'd just challenge the skeptics to try it.
