considering buying a 05 tsx with 72000mi
Well im thinking of buying a red on black tsx with 72,000 mi being sold by a dealer. I was wondering what i should be looking at. I plan to keep this car through at least a year or two past college.
Any thoughts? there is also a 05 tl with 67,000 mi being sold for the same price.

Are these AT or MT cars? What is the dealer asking (price) for these?
My general used car check starts with paying close attention to body panel gap. It should be consistent and (for Acura) especially narrow throughout. Check all the lights. HID headlights are especially costly. Check for clearcoat peel and/or areas of respray.
Check under the hood with engine on and off. Look for leaks, belt wear, fluid levels.
Check tire wear and brake wear. Tires can be especially costly.
Check the interior. Are the seat bolsters squished or worn/torn? How clean are the carpets? Where are the factory floor mats?
Drive the car. Put it through some turns, hit some potholes, use the brakes at high speeds, accelerate hard a few times. Make sure you use all gears and if its an AT, use the sportshift feature. Listen for clunks, pay attention to any vibrations or 'odd' noises.
A good used car should come with 3 keys (including 1 valet), 2 keyless entry remotes, and the owners manual with radio code.

I should've also mentioned to check the climate control. Make sure the A/C is nice and cold. Also, if it's not too hot out, check the heated seats (especially if you live in a cold climate place). Heated seats have a limited lifespan and 3/4 TSXs that I test drove needed the driver side coils replaced because they were so weak.

ATs are SO boring!
If you're into sporty driving, definitely go with the TSX over the TL. I was able to get my 05 6MT for $12.9 with the same miles and it was SUPER clean. I spent months searching because I am so particular. I'm sure you can negotiate their price a little bit. The TSX will be the better bang for the buck IMO.

Too bad, but at least you found it before you bought the car (I know it can be disappointing though). There has been much dissing of the Acura paint on this site, but I have no complaints (though in my case, allot of the credit goes to the clear bra since they're all highway miles). I have an 05 that's over 5 years old w/ 120K miles on it, has spent over half it's life outside (and in New England at that) and it still cleans up like new. It's my car, and even I can be surprised at how good it still looks (I think it being silver gets allot of the credit).

My brother went in to get a price down, and i was lookin over the car an good thing i caught him before he was going to sign the forms. The guy was already printing it off, and iono but the sales guy sounded a bit despreat

One of my neighbors has an '04 red with parchment interior and the thing is flawless. I can't speak for all owners but for a car that's parked on the street under trees etc. it doesn't have any paint issues that you speak of.

Do a google search for "milano pink". Im not the only one. Im not saying its the rule, but there are enough exceptions that tells me Honda is putting out a crappy paint product in the milano red.
