Considerign a used TSX...
Thinking about getting a first year used TSX with navi as a second car next fall. Has to be auto for the lady. I've seen used ones with Navi going for around 26-28k (with low miles. Hopefully by then I can get one for around 20k. ? Should I go for the first year, or get a newer one? Anything I need to watch out for specifically? thanks

If they are 26-28 now, they are not just going to drop to 20 in 9 mos, even when the 06s come out. The trick will be to find a good condition private sale one at a good price. Since this will be a second car you have plenty of time to find the right one. There's virtually no diff between 04 and 05 other than the actual age/milage of the car - some 04s are almost 2 years old now.

Probably not going to find a Auto/Navi next fall for ~ $20k. It would have to have a huge number of miles on it to get down that far. Keep in mind that the Navi option is an extra $2000, so the car you are talking about sold for at least $29k.

IMO - I would get a TSX with Navi with under 20K miles for under $25K. If not, I would go new.

Finding a used auto-Navi in great shape may be tough.
It was dumb luck I found a clean used one.
I was looking for any used TSX auto I could find, we ended up getting a used 6,000mi dealer loaner car. It came cert. used through Acura. Ours is a non-Navi BTW. Most demo's/loaners will be non-Navi.
Our car was 6mo. old and we paid $23,900 which in my area was an awesome deal for a low miles used Navi.
I would expect a 26,000mile Navi auto private sale for around $27,000.
It sucks they don't depreciate much in a year. Maybe a total of $5k in 2yrs time. But low 20k is going to be a tough price to find.

Edmunds says it depreciates 5k in one year. But I had about that off MSRP so my first year depreciation is only going to be the second year in reality.
Actually low depreciation was a huge factor in purchase for me.

I agree that you paid an excellent price, and if it was a loaner from the dealer you purchased it from, it was probably a pretty safe move. On a fairly new auction car there are a lot of unknowns, enough so that I'd be inclined to just buy a new Accord, if the price was that much of an issue.

Finding a used TSX at a good used price is a tough job. I even contacted a broker that searched the area and several other states and they called me back and gave up after two weeks...wussy!

Good luck
I guess the TSX is a hot item these days. My sister just bought one last month after looking for a while. She got an '04 red/parchment with Navi and 15K miles for $24800. None of the local dealers had '04s in stock and said used were hard to find. She's actually getting offers for it everywhere she goes but loves it too much to let go of.
