Clear Bra - Long Island, NY
Does anyone know where I can get a quality clear bra installed on long island? If you have had it done:
How did it come out?
What did it cost?
How long have you had it?
How will did it protect the paint?
Was it worth it?
Thanks.

Can't help out on finding an installer in your area (you should get some help here on that front though), but I can comment on the rest. The install came out fine with good fit on all the pieces (the pieces are laser cut beforehand, so I'm confident that the quality of the install is directly related to whoever installs the film)(can't imagine a DIY install by the way). Cost (through the dealer) was $560 I think and it's guaranteed for life (whatever that means). You'll most likely find some independent installers around (who after all do the installs for the dealers), but I'd be surprised if they are much cheaper. My 05 was done in April of 05 and that car has almost 60K miles on it (all highway) and the stuff makes a big difference. The parts of the front that are covered (which is pretty much everything except the headlights, but including the mirrors and up about a foot on the hood) look fine with no damage at all. Along the very bottom of the bumper and along the very bottom of the bumper sides, it's amazing how the areas that aren't covered have rash. But from the bra line up, there's no damage at all (this is even quite noticeable on a silver car; you can imagine what a difference it makes on a darker color car). This is I think the most miles I've put on a car with the clear bra (this is my third with the bra, I also have an 07 that is the fourth that also looks great but has less miles) and I wouldn't go with out it. Here in the Northeast, road rash is real problem, particularly on a car that does all highway miles. There's so much crap on the road, especially during the winter, that's it's impossible to keep the front of a car from getting virtually sand blasted. The clear bra eliminates that. As you can probably tell, I'm a strong proponent of the stuff and strongly recommend it. Oh, as an added bonus, bugs wash off easier to, especially if you keep a coat of wax on the clear bra.
