Clear bra with full hood coverage?

Are there any clear bra applications for the TSX which cover the entire hood. The ones I have seen referenced in the forums all appear to have a 12-18" hood strip.

Thanks in advance,
Aamir

Mine (Proform pattern, 3M material) goes a whopping 24" up the hood. Interestingly the same company's pattern for the TL doesn't go nearly as far up.

The Paint Protection rolls come up to 60" I believe. A roll that size would run about $1500 at cost. But for a full hood wrap you're looking at about $400-600. And no-one makes a pattern for that so it would have to be a special cut. I say settle for the extended hood kit since it costs the same as a full hood paint job. Venture shield makes an extended kit for that car. Check out www.invisiblepatterns.com ...That is the brand I install. Go to the "select a pattern" link and you can view all of the kits available for the TSX. I'm not sure if you can buy those through the site though.

I do not see a normal kit verse an extended kit for the TSX, I just see one kit.

Yep, just checked the site. I guess it doesn't show all of the TSX patterns there. That one kit that you see goes on top of the rear bumper to protect it when you're using the trunk. I'm not sure how far the extended kit goes up. I have to open up the I.P. software to check it. Venture Tape is the name of the company, the ppf is called Venture Shield and it's the clearest on the market. Not yellow like 3M. I'll see if I can find out how big the extended kit is.

Looks like about 12"-16". That kit comes with pieces for the hood,2 fenders, and 2 rear view mirrors.

You can see a similar kit at www.xpel.com Thier kit goes straight accross the hood where as ours goes with the curve of the hood. So from the tip of each side of the hood the film goes about 12" up the hood and curves accross the hood......get it?

I got it from Protective Film Technologies, the number is 703-944-7076 and the guy's name is Skip Vachon. It was $995 for the full kit (bumper, fenders, hood, headlights, foglights, and side mirrors) including installation and all prep work. The guy did it in his garage off Fox Mill Rd, took about an hour and the installation was perfect -- I couldn't be happier. The 3M Scotchgard film they use is totally invisible except for the very faint line at the edge, not yellow at all (and yellow would show up real nasty on my RBP so I would know), and unlike most PPFs it has a layer of clearcoat so it can be treated identically with the rest of the paint on the car. Any of you NoVA area people who want to see it in person should come to the meet this saturday

Try viewing it on a perfectly white car, then you would see that it's yellowish. I didn't mean yellow like a bannana. I removed and replaced clay8898's 3M Clear Bra on his bumper with Venture shield and you cant even tell it's on. You can definately see that 3M is yellowish on his White 3rd gen TL. You can't really tell on darker cars, but lighter cars you can.

JPT- Kudos for spending the cash for the full setup brutha. you don't even know how many people come in to the shop and about faint when I tell them how much it's going to cost to do all that. The kits I install for $600-900 get sold by the stealerships for up to $1400. It's crazy.
