Haven't seen this up yet... sorry if it's a repost.

Honda recalls some China Accords on potential flaw
Sunday June 20, 10:42 pm ET
SHANGHAI, June 21 (Reuters) - Japan's Honda Motor Co is recalling from Monday 70,240 of its popular Accord models in China over a possible fuel tank defect, the second auto recall in the country in a week.
On Friday, FAW Car Co said it was recalling 30,000 Mazda 6s made under licence from Mazda Motor Corp also because of fuel tank problems.
The Honda recall affects three models made at its venture in Guangzhou with partner Denway Motors Ltd between January 15 and October 29, 2003, the venture said in a statement on its Web site (www.guangzhouhonda.com.cn).
The venture -- Guangzhou Honda Automotive Co Ltd -- said it had observed cracks developing in the fuel tanks of Honda's 2003 Accords, and wanted to examine or fix Chinese-made models.
"There have been no accidents caused by this problem to date," the statement added.
Last August, Honda said it would recall 31,000 Accords due to a faulty exhaust pipe that could emit harmful fuel vapours, after a similar defect was found in Japanese-made Accords.
Never head about that myself...

Which version of the Accord is this anyway? From the sounds of it it was an assembly problem not design - so it wouldn't necessarily affect Accords made elsewhere.
It will be happening soon enough - who would buy a Chinese assembled Accord?

...and I guess not too far in the future...Walmart(?) will ship'em from China & for sale here at 'round like $8K ? Of course you can spend $20K more & get something else...however US economy is likely to be in far dire state considering tons white-collar jobs are going to India....just wait and see

funny, just vacation in china. there are a lot of accords there, all US model design, with the ugly rear. can understand why they are recalling the fuel tank. the roads are not as smooth as ours and in a lot of areas, you have to go up on the curb and park on the sidewalk.
