Chicagoland Dealerships
I bought my car from Acura of Libertyville, and I must say that they did a great job! Is there anyone out there who has any stories about the dealers in the area?

Yeah Acura of Libertyville gave me a bogus number on my trade-in to get me in the door, then chopped $1000 off the value. No good. I walked.
I ended up buying my car from Continental Acura from Andy Trilla. Nice guy, straightforward, and gave me good $$ off MSRP. I should have my car soon.

Continental Acura gave me a shit deal it was too bad cause it's only 3 miles from my house. Went to Orland Park Acura dealt with Emanual LeCurtis and the sales manager Pete Pishos and got an awesome deal with lots of $$$ off MSRP.

I am new to this site and will soon be a new TSX owner, as soon as I can find the right deal. I went to Pauly Acura in Highland Park and the sales guy I talked with acted like he would be doing me a BIG favor if he knocked $500. off the list. I told him I could do better and he actually let me walk, and was ready to buy that day! Have any of you guys been able to get invoice price or better on this car? I am very willing to drive 100 mi to save a few thousand dollars.

not likely
there have been 2 or 3 people out of 100+ accounts I've read here and elsewhere where they were able to secure the car for a few hundred over invoice. The VAST majority are paying 500-1000 under MSRP, at best.
Invoice? maybe several months to a year from now. Or right now, but in your dreams.
below invoice?? never. not even in your dreams!
What colors did Highland Park have, btw? Any meteor silver (which is like a very light blue) on the lot?? Or white??
I've been to the Acura dealers in Lisle, Westmont, Elmhurst and Glenview.. slim pickins. only 3-5 TSX on each of the lots, one or two generally have sold tags on them already.
looks like I'm gonna be gettin' a Mazda6 the way things are going (as my best chance to get a deal like $1250-1500 off MSRP would likely only come from in stock. that's if I'm lucky).
Don't know if I can justify paying anymore than that.

Pay the extra money and get the TSX. I got $1200.00 off and it was supposed to be $1300.00. I took the deal cuz I wanted the car. I wasn't disappointed whatsoever. The TSX is worth the wait, it's the coolest car I've seen or driven. You won't see alot of them on the road and it's the SHIT. Incredible car for the money.

They had a blue auto no navi, and 2 black MT w/navi one with an ebony int and the other with a parchment int. I am looking for a black MT no navi with the parchment int.

You may want to check out the dealer in Hoffman Estates on Higgins. They have about 2-4 in black, if I recall correctly. Not sure how they were configured though. That's the most in black that I've seen of the locations I've been to (including Palatine, which I forgot to mention). All the others have just one black, if that.
swami - comments like yours make it hard for me to be objective! As it is, I'm factoring in other possible savings, i.e., insurance, free lifetime car washes, long-term resale value, etc., to even out the price differences and therefore, justify it on a financial as well as emotional level.

$700 off MSRP
$1250 ground effects installed
$540 foglights installed
$622 wing installed
Free rustproofing
trade-in: I got $900 more than Kelly Blue book's trade-in value.
Easy people to talk to. My sales person (Barry) was okay (he was new) but I think it was the sales manager (Jeff) who made the deal easy. Jeff and I arrived at the price in less than 15 minutes after sitting down.
I was told I paid a lot for the foglights so you may want to learn from my mistake.
The dealership in Hoffman Estates I am not fond of. I have been to that dealership in the past and on 3 separate occasions (for different cars), they always tried to give me a horrible, horrible deal. To the point where I think it was insulting. I never went back there again.

I GOT IT!!! I GOT IT!!! I went to Arlington Acura in Palatine. Great place! Nice people to work with, no presure, no insults (like I got at Libertyville just an hour before I went to Arlington) I think I got an OK deal $800. of list, free splash guard and wheel locks, and a 2.8 interest rate to boot! So all in all I think I did alright. I actually got the last MT they had in stock. artic blue, no navi, MT.

My salesmans name is Frank Foti, but it was actually the sales manager (I think his name is Chris) who came back with the 2.8 rate. The funny thing is that we told him that we wanted at least 3%. We didn't go through Honda, I don't have the loan papers handy right now but I believe that the loan company is out of New York. I'll get the name and post it. This is the first time that I bought a car and didn't have to fight for a lower interest rate.

Stay Away from Napleton Acura, Elmhurst, IL. They tried to pull a bait and switch on me. First they agreed to $500 below MSRP, and then when I received the paperwork, it was MSRP! Very sneaky and borderline unscrupolous.

I got my TSX and I love it!
Hey Jason (Mega Moderator) - Thanks for the 411 on Andy Trilla at Continental Acura in Lisle. He was great, a pleasure to deal with and gave me a great gesture with a few $$ off MSRP.
As you all can read above, I had a bad expereince at Napelton Acura and add McGrath Acura - Westmont (another situation where the salesman and the manager promised me different final prices).

I haven't heard anyone talk about McGrath Acura in Westmont... While I have not bought a car from there before, I have been there a few times and have always enjoyed my experiences. My buddy bought an '02 TLS back when it came out and Lisle Acura has always treated him like crap. I've had some bad luck with Lisle myself...
Anyway, I'm looking to get about $1500 to $2000 off a 6MT Non Navi TSX. I don't care much about the color either... Just as long as it's not red or beige.

sorry to be the one to break this to you, but.. you'll be lucky to get even $800 off at any of the Chicago area dealers.
Shoot for $800, but be prepared to get only 500 or 600 off (and that may be a reach at this point) .

Napleton Acura - no problems with a last minute price switch as per howardfrda ...
BUT, I put my $1000 deposit down on Met Silv/6 spd/NonNav for $800 under MSRP only to find out the next business day that the car couldn't be obtained in 1 month, then 1.5 months, and then, apparently never. They're offering a CG, but I don't like washing the car every week to keep it looking good.
Any suggestions on how to get the same deal/color and actually have a car show up?
