Change to a new car due to too much problem?
Hey Guys!! Well, first of all, not sure if i can post it here tho.
if no, sorry for that mods!!
But anyway, i just want to ask a few questions. I remember reading it somewhere on this forum, but i dun remember which already.
If a car gets too many problems, we, as consumers can request for a new car right?
It's for my friend's sister. I told her that Acurazine has every information of this issue. Lol..
so yeaa, she's driving a BMW 330.. and has many problems happening. THe recent one is, you know how we can flip our side mirrors inwards? Her car's side mirror went OUTWARDS instead... =.= .
So yea, is there a law about it or something? Shit, i just cant remember what i read.. @@
SO, THanks for helping!! Thanks in Advance!!

first off, I'm sooo not surprised that the bimmer has many problems.
but it's not as easy as you think.
I believe it is different state by state on the particulars, but there is
a lemon law. not sure if Canada has a lemon law or not.
I believe the way it works is that the very same thing needs to break
on a car at least 3 times. not 3 different things.
it needs to have a recurring problem, that has been "fixed" by techs
numerous times to no avail. If they decide the car will continue to have
problems, and it cannot be fixed properly, they'll lemon it.
but in your case, well in your friend's sister's case, she's probably screwed.
unfortunately that's what you get when you buy a BMW.
this is not new, not even close to new of a complaint.
chances are her problems will continue. I've heard countless stories
about BMW's, mostly 3-series, and none of them good.
seems BMW has figured how to make a car break down as many times
as possible without violating the lemon laws. they seem to be experts at it.

^^Agree with MMsTSX, not surprised with BMW's low reliability.
It varies by state but it doesn't hurt to check.
Here is the link to the State of California's Attorney General's Office regarding the LEMON LAW

and yeaa, guess she's screwed then. Because it's true that her problems just happen one by one. and they are all differnt.. @@

built for speed
For a state lemon law to be used to convince the dealer to do a switch or buy back, the problems have to be serious enough to make the car "unusable". Rattles, stereo problems, and incorrectly folding mirrors will not qualify. Go read the actual wording of the law in the state in question. It's usually quite specific. Good luck.
