CD stuck - error message

When I switched from one CD to the next today, an error message was displayed on the screen. I pressed the CD eject button, but the CD does not come out. The CD player is completely non-operational. If one turns on the CD, the error message is displayed, and one cannot listen to any CDs.

I live about an hour and half from the nearest dealer, so it's not easy to drop in. Does anyone have any suggestions? Have others encountered this problem?

Many thanks for the courtesy of your reply(ies).

Tim, try turning off the car, and back on and let the changer reset.

edit: are you using burnt cds with labels?? the changer gets hot when playing and sometimes lose labels will foul the changer mechanism.

Thanks, mg7726. I already tried turning off the car and back on - had no effect. I don't think the CDs have labels on them, but I am not absolutely certain.

When this happened to my TL, it required replacing the headunit. They mailed the jammed CDs back to me within a couple of weeks, to my surprise.

^^ what he said. make an appt with the dealer; there's not much you can do the changer is connected to the navi display - have them replace under warranty.
