Carbon Gray Paint Code - color doesn't match
Hi -
I was getting my bumper cover replaced, the bodyshop took the paint code written on the car sticker near door. But the paint they got on the bumper cover didn't match the carbon gray car have color. The bodyshop guy shown me the paint code for the color they put which is same as the code on car. They are going to try asking the paint shop / factory and get the exact color.
But I was wondering what the problem is and why it didn't match even though the codes are the same. Is it something to do with the particular brand paint difference etc.
Thanks.

My shop ended up taking the original bumper, and using a machine that scans the color and produces a color code. Even then it was off, too yellowish for PWP so they fudged the color and added less yellowing and it finally turned out right.
