Someone here has been researching about it...I can't remember his name though. Try doing a search and see if you can find him. Last I remember, it looked like you can do it. He didn't want to spend the $4k on the drive from the dealer though, so he was hunting for a cheaper source. (Yes, apparently it costs $4k, even though it's a $2k price when you buy the car)

they are swappable. the best way is ebay.

i know people did 04 or 05 to 06 swaps when the 06 ones came out.

unless the 08 unit is different than the 06 one i cant see why not.


the 06 and up units are faster supposedly. but you can just plug it in and there is some menu to recalibrate the touch screen.

It has been done before it was an 05 to 06 drive but the screen needed to get recalibrated.
