With most manufacturers once you are denied warranty coverage it is in the computer and you will get the same song and dance no matter what dealer you go to. You could certainly try it, but in the end you will probably just have to take the fight through the normal channels as you will likely see a united front from all dealers, though I have personally seen exceptions in other makes.

I had major tranny problems with my '99 TL and the dealership where I got my car from would not fix it under warranty I then brought my car to another place and they fixed it under warranty.

ok i got a question guys... i dont' know much about clutchs
maybe u guys can help me out...
dealer said, a part of my clutch has been burnt.. thus it's losing grip on the first gear start..
NOW... since it's a new clutch
won't that burnt part just wear away anyways after a while??
if it does then won't my clutch be good later?

Approach the dealer the same way you approached another dealer.
I actually got my headlights fixed under warranty at a different dealer than planned, because one particular dealer said it was the "internal wiring" that affected the lights, hence couldn't be covered under warranty.
Replacing the clutch under warranty is the biggest pain in the ass, because wear and tear depends mostly on the driver, although some may be a defect. How much miles do you have on your car?

Neo, why don't you see if your sales consultant can interceed on your behalf? As for seeing another dealer: If the district rep is the one who turned down the warranty request, you will need to go up one level and contact AHM customer care. If the request was turned down by the service manager, you might get a different response at another store. Remember, it is the Acura District rep who makes the warranty calls on a tranny, not your local dealer.
FWIW, clutches are considered wear items and not covered under warranty any more than brake pads are. 3000 miles is pretty fast though, and I'd think you're in some "grey area" regarding defect or abuse. Are you sure the body shop wasn't out there doing some clutch dumps before you got your car back?
Also, if the clutch is heavily "glazed" it will not burn off with time and get better. It's probably ruined since the friction material has turned to a glass like material.

Just call the dealership you want to go to and get an appointment. Thats what I did after I called for a price quote on my 45k check up at the dealership i bought my car at and found out that another dealreship charged 200$ less and havent been back there again even for warranty work. All dealerships must perform warranty work even if the car has not been purchased from them. They get paid so they dont care
