hay Jeff, try Honda oil filter for S2000, that are made in japan, it was $35CND in Canada and some US dealer selling for $6US. but recent Honda Canada reginal meeting decided to reduce the price of such filter to around $8CND. may worth to check your dealer if you want to give it a try. it looks larger but will fit, and i had confirm with Honda/acura that we can use the filter on TSX. the part # is 15400-PCX-004.

no i have not. but you can check with dealer. i had phoned a few dealers and they all say it will be okay. the only cars that can't use this filter is new CRV (space issue)
when i was shopping for the filter/few month ago, that filter was listed $35, i am not going to spend $35 for a a filter so i went with the new skinner type, someone say it deliver a higher oil pressure for quick startup, but i had not heard any thing concrete about it. i know Honda filter is better then generic FRAM filter so i bought 3. the s2000 filter is same size as "old" honda filter. i will use it for next DIY oil change at next spring.. yes, i will also shoot some pic as to remove oil filter from top.
if you want JDM; go for the s2000 filter

I've used Mobil1 oil filters for my pass 3 oil changes. And that's what most people recomment over the OEM ones. As for FRAM filters VS Honda filters. They are the same. FRAM makes the Honda OEM filters. In other words, they are all good enough for cour every day-to-day usage. And I do not see why Honda would spend more time just to design an oil filter for S2K. The only Hondas that takes differnet oil filters are NSXs and old school Legends. At least that's when I worked at Honda.
And why would a S2K OIL FILTER make your/my car JDM is beyond me!!
Anyhow, thanks

Hay JeffTSX, what i was trying to say is, if you like JDM parts, then go for s2000 oil filter since it's made in Japan.. but i am sure mobil filter is good filter as well!
some information you may be interested about filter and oil on this site, there are some there, but mostly like me, are oil nuts
http://theoildrop.server101.com/ubb/...=001207#000003

i can't find any internal pic of s2000 filter anymore, but i will use it at next oil change for sure. My wife don't understand why i think about oil so much... too bad i can't give her GC for her birthday
have nice and safe trip !
