Unhappy Buying auto TSX soon but worried there won't be any FI upgrades offered for the auto

I'm pretty much set on the auto TSX as my next car, I just know that I will want more power out of it down the road and I'm worried that with it having a Honda/Acura 5spd auto trans (generally known to have problems in some manner or another), it probably won't see any aftermarket FI upgrades down the road.

There are already numerous turbo and SC kits for the RSX-S, and some should convert over to 6spd TSX use in short order once new ECU piggybacking and tuning research is completed.

Thing is, the auto TSX's trans is an unknown quantity right now and with the recent history of Acura auto transes being fairly poor, it's likely many companies will bypass even altering their upgrades to work with the auto trans.

Anyone have some input to share on this concern?

I'd love to be able to find a nice SC kit on the market for the auto within a year that would allow me to strap on another ~50-75whp for a decent price. I am totally open to adding a trans cooler and even upgrading certain parts of the trans that are found to be weak. Look to the IS300.net forums to see that the IS300's stock auto trans, when given a valvebody upgrade, can handle incredible amounts of power.

Will any FI kit manufacturers be putting an auto TSX transmission through some R&D to see how it holds up to higher power levels?

Ummm...if you have money for a TSX and 4-5000.00 in upgrades right off the bat, why don't you just buy a more performance oriented car, like a used S4, M3, or a new TL?

Clearly going over 30k in price opens up the market.

+50-75 whp will pretty much break any stock tranny for any car out there, or severly limit its life. If you are looking for ~275whp out of a car, you should look at something else besides a tsx. For righ now, the tsx is too new to see any auto trans mods out there.
It's very often its people on these forums that will be the first to test the limits and build off that.

don't get a maxima, they are not similar to the TSX or IS at all. Feels like a whale!

Daily driver, traffic. Some undetermined time down the line it can be removed from daily driver duty and modded.

Adding $4-5k to the price of the vehicle does not open up to any better choices, trust me I've looked. There are no stylish, comfortable, sporty sedans w/ auto trans out there for $30k that are any better than a TSX would be for daily driver duty that offer any better upgrade potential, aside from the IS300 and I'd rather spend $21k on a used IS300 than $30k on a new one.

Anyway, as I said I like the TSX. I just worry it won't have any upgrade potential if with auto trans. So it's between the TSX with everyone I want except power output, or IS300 which is used which sucks, is not quite as nice inside, and is RWD, but is cheaper and has better upgrade potential.

But for the subjective stylish part you can't go wrong with a G35.

I find the G35 sedan kinda unattractive, and the coupe looks like a whale shark.
