Brake light doesn’t work when brakes applied.
Hey y’all,
I recently installed a dash cam to my car; now the left brake light doesn’t work when I apply pressure to the brake, but it works if I turn on fog lights/headlights.
I wired the rear cam to the reverse light, but that doesn’t affect the lights. I don’t know if me hardwiring it to the fuse was the problem. For the fuse I removed the backup light fuse to combine it with the adapter, since it apparently gives out constant power, but after I added it to the fuse adapter the amp reader showed no power, it still charges the camera tho.
please help, I have no ideas what I’m doin g
thanks

I’ve check if it was the fuse by putting it back in, it doesn’t affect the brake light, I don’t know if it’s the pressure sensor not working only for the right side or if there’s some wiring problem. I just want to find thesource of the problem

Burning Brakes
Its difficult to speculate on the possible solution to the behavior you describe.
See attached electrical brake-light diagram for 04-08 TSX.
The brake light system is isolated from any other system
Per the diagram and assuming everything it intact, it's impossible for one side to light up without the other side and 3rd high mount.
The white/black power wire or the ground wire could be cut to the left side but that doesn't explain why it works when the fog lights/headlights are on.
This is a head scratcher indeed.
This is a wild guess ... can you flip the bulb around in the left socket? I think they are only supposed to inserted one way but sometimes the socket allows improper insertion.
