Bought the last manual/navi CGP '08 in Cali :-)

Thanks to all of you for the pre-purchase guidance on this forum, I was able to find the car I wanted at a dealership in SoCal and will fly down there on Friday afternoon to pick it up. Got a new '08 CGP 6MT w/ Navi for $27,200+TTL, and am thoroughly excited. I'll likely spend the weekend letting Navi guide me through the streets of LA before driving home on Sunday... Any break-in advice for the trip?

wow congratulations on such a great purchase. i myself have a 6mt CGP, 07 though. vary your speed and gear while on the freeway, dont go pass 3.5k rpm, dont brake hard. if you're driving through LA, it would be a good break-in process. remember to get a clear bra when you get the chance. i skipped it because i thought it was too expensive and pointless. take my advice since i also have CGP and the chips really shows on the front end. it was a bit too late when i got the clear bra because there were like 20 chips in the front. acura's paint is very weak and very vulnerable to rock chips. but better late than never.

congrats and many miles of safe driving to you-I would also recommend getting a clear bra as the paint is lousy and chips easily. My 06 6MTwnav Milano red tsx is covered with chips-even near the sunroof. I still love the car, bought new 11/17/06. It now has almost 54,000 miles.

Cool

Smart choice getting the 08 TSX over the 2nd Gen TSX imo.

Nice choice on the color and the tranny/navi combo as well!

If I was in your shoes, I would definitely work hard as well to find an 08 then buying the fugly 09 TSX.

As for engine break in, your manual book should explain in detail and you can cross reference this forum member's advice for accuracy.
