Is Black a bad choice for me ?
I am getting a Black TSX with Navi .. (There wasn't any other color on 04 models ) ..
After reading posts like .. its gonna be hot oven in summer .. you have to always keep it clean .. i am worried now ... the cars i had one before had silver, blue colors ...
Any thoughts ?

It is hard to keep clean, but it looks great when it is...Just wax it every few months. As far as hot, I have a NHB with Black interior and I have not noticed being any hotter then my old car which was green exterior and grey cloth interior.

Well the worst thing with black cars is the winter, Road salt can get so bad you forget what color your car is. Living in dallas you're not exactly going to have that problem.
I would highly reccomend a static duster. http://calcarduster.com/
Even when it doesnt rain for a few days, dust cant really start to show up, but with one of these you can have your car looking like you just washed it (providing its just dust and loose dirt and not rain spots) in a minute or two.
I have had 2 black cars and they are a little more work to keep pretty but when they are shined up nothing looks as good on a lot of cars.

PC = Porter Cable, when used in the context of detailing refers to a Porter Cable random orbit polisher. It's good for taking out swirls or applying polishes/waxes and safe enough to be used by a beginner or intermediate detailer.
P.S. Go with black, it'll look great! Just make sure you learn how to wash and take care of it properly (i.e. not introduce swirls so that you may never need a PC!)

Just think of washing weekly as doing some exercise. Black looks dirty after only 3 days usually. 2 weeks is way too long. If I was in Dallas I'd be washing weekly year round.

I have Artic Blue. I wash every 2 weeks. I thought being blue and not a dark color like black, it would be easy to clean...but nooooo. It's the same. I don't park in a garage so it's dirty right after I wash it, especially when it's windy like today. You can see dust all over. Also, I just waxed my car. I just don't know when to rewax. Maybe in a couple months.

I've owned a lot of different colors over the years, but never black. A many people here note, it does take more care. Since I have rarely lived in a place that gave me the luxury of washing my own (condos are not particularly friendly to this, for the most part), I wouldn't want any dark color.
In this part of the country, the temp difference between a light and a dark car is considerable. It's rarely all that hot here, but the sun is intense and tends to heat up dark colors more than light. A light car parked in the sun might end up 85-90 degrees. A dark one can easily be in the triple digits. In places like the northeast where it's hot and humid and the sun less intense, the color is less significant in the overall picture. Phoenix gets the worst of it. Temps above 90 most of the summer, along with the same intense desert sun. I've seen dark cars hit 140 inside when parked outdoors in the summer, light ones usually stay below 120.
I drive PWP, and it stays cooler than my old Audi A4 which was a metallic ruby red. I expect that tinting in the next few weeks will improve it a bit. Wash at a good quality "hand wash" car wash at least once a week, wax myself every 3 months, with an occasional "quick hand wax" at the carwash in between. I am careful about who I will allow to do this though...

IMO BLack is the best looking color only if you keep it clean (wash every week) otherwise it will look like crap when it is dirty. Otherwise I would go for the WHite Pearl!!!! That is my second choice of color!!

You can wash it less than once a week if you don't mind it looking crappy........ my old car was black, and keeping it up without a place to easily wash it was a challenge - ran it through a carwash every three weeks, which was not enough. Winters here are hell; the good weekend days in winter have folks lined up at carwash centers for 45 minute waits. TSX is cgp, which works reasonably well to hide the dust, and my car is now garaged, tho it's a dusty garage. I pay the guys in the garage $5 to dust it down with a feather duster about every two weeks, wash once a month, full detailing about every three months. And - have rubber mats for winter use, when Philly's streets turn into equal parts of slush and salt (not your problem)
But - if you do keep your black car clean, it will turn heads............... the nhbp is a stunning color when fresh.............

AndsX,
i understand ur worries becuz i was going through the same ones about 2 months ago. but after getting the NHBP/ebony, i can't imagine owning the TSX in any other color. i'm in michigan, so once a week washing is gonna be highly impractical, especially with the cold weather already settling in. it wasn't a problem the first couple weeks i owned the car though. but anyway, my point is (as everyone already suggested)...NHBP/ebony is a damn sweet ass lookin' ride. in my opinion, u can't get the TSX to look as classy as in that color combo. and at night, even sweeter lookin'. so my 2 cents, get the NHBP, it'll be worth it. and u're lucky u're in TX, u CAN keep it clean as often as u'd like.
