Been a lurker for a while... figured I'd sign up.
Whats shakin' people? Like the title said, I've been lurking for about 3 months (since I bought my 04 TSX), and I figured what the hell... might as well sign up.
I bought my car in september, and couldn't be more satisfied with it (other than the ongoing issue w/ acura about the rear camber, which is getting fixed). My car is black on black, 6 speed and navi (best combo IMO). Been looking at wheels and tires for a while, but nothing stands out so far... so I might just lower it (pro-kit) and just leave it at that. I bought this thing to be comfortable and fun... not unreliable and loud. God knows I've owned enough of those kind of cars.... 92 Mustang 5.0 (last car), 93 Sentra SE-R, 96 Sentra SE-R w/ turbo SR20 motor in it, to just name a few.
But, here I am now... so, use me. Oh, BTW... I'm a store manager of a tire retail store, so if you guys have ANY questions about tires, wheels, prices, alignments, mechanical, etc. feel free to ask. I've been around for a while and if I don't know something, I know someone that does... and most of my mechanics are either master techs, or have at least 2 ASE certifications.
See you guys around....

Make sure you sign in those threads you must sign in to, especially since you have a 6MT.

I've got a question for you. I've asked this question in my Integra Local Forum, but I'd like to hear what you have to say. Why is it that you would want your good tread tires to be in the rear for a front wheel drive car? I've heard arguments supporting both sides, so would you have the good tires up front or in the rear?

I had a 92 SE-R too, I loved that car. It was very fun to drive, took a beating and just asked for more! I can't say the same for the 89 Mustang GT I had.

I'm looking to replace my tsx tires maybe go at 225/40/17 or even at 235/40/17 -
I know it would really be firm on the road but how big is the difference between the OEM tire vs 225/40/17 or 235/40/17 ?
Oh here are my final choices
I really dont like my OEM tires anymore... almost got into 2 accidents thanks to VSA!!!
I know I'll give up some performance on these but how bad can it be from OEMs?
BRIDGESTONE TURANZA LH-S
Goodyear Assurance TripleTred
Hankook Ventus HRII H405
These are the premium picks ---pricy but we'll worth it as my friends would say...
PZero Nero M&S
ContiExtremeContact
Bridgestone Potenza G009
Money is the deciding factor for me but willing to pay more for the better tire overall.
I would go toward just getting a summer tire but prefer all season since I live in Chicago, you never know what weather you're going to get.
Any advice would be great thanks
