B12 Maintenance Cost

I'm sure this is addressed somewhere else but B12 is too short a search term. What does the dealer usually charge for B12 maintenance? What do non-dealer-mechanics charge for the same stuff?

try searcing 'maintenance minder' and you'll find more information. this thread has an outline of the codes HERE.

Maintainence Main Items
A=
Replace engine oil
B=
Replace engine oil and oil filter
Inspect front and rear brakes
Check parking brake adjustment
Inspect these items:
-Tie rod ends, steering gear box, and boots
-Suspension components
-Driveshaft boots
-Brake hoses and line (including ABS)
-All fluid levels and condition of fluids
-Exhaust system
-Fuel lines and connections
Maintainence Sub Items
1=
Rotate tires
2=
Replace air cleaner element
If you drive in dusty conditions, replace every 15,000
miles (24,000 km).
Replace dust and pollen filter
If you drive primarily in urban areas that have high
concentrations of soot in the air from industry and
from diesel-powered vehicles, replace every 15,000
miles (24,000 km).
Inspect drive belt
3=
Replace transmission fluid
Driving in mountainous areas at very low vehicle
speeds or trailer towing results in higher
transmission and transfer temperatures. This
requires transmission and transfer fluid changes
more frequently than recommended by the
maintenance minder. If you regularly drive your
vehicle under these conditions, have the transmission
and transfer fluid changed at 60,000 miles (100,000
km), then every 30,000 miles (48,000 km). (For A/T
only.)
4=
Replace spark plugs
Inspect valve clearance
5=
Replace engine coolant

NOTE:
Inspect idle speed every 160,000miles (256,000 km).
Adjust the valves during services A, B, 1, 2, or 3 only if they are noisy.
Independent of themaintenancemessages in themulti-information
display, replace the brake fluid every 3 years.

as a pricing point, i got quoted around $130 from my local acura dealership for B1 maintenance.

Wow, that's expensive.

The only things being "done" are oil change ($15 dino, $30 synthetic DIY), rotate tires (free DIY), air/pollen filters ($40 for both).
The rest are them just looking at various fluids and topping off.

So unless you got synthetic, you paid $200 for something you could've done yourself for $55 and an hour or two of your time.

I agree with you it would have been alot cheaper doing it myself but I not mechanically inclined nor do I have any desire to learn. As a female I rather spend that money to have it done. I do not smoke (a wasted expense). The dealer I take my car too has given me numerous free oil changes, tire rotation and balances, replaced my cracked foglights, scratched-up headlight (done by some a-hole in a mall parking lot)replaced the driver's seat covering that was ripped up by a sharp object, driver's side door panel, the wiring in the driver's side heated seat and given me touch-up paint pens free. In the long run that $200.00 spent was not that expensive.
