B1 service question

I just turned 90K on my 2007 TSX and the maintenance minder said B1 service. Now I believe this is the service that typcially occurs every 30K with the additional inspections. I believe the last time I had this service completed it cost about 200 bucks.

When I called to make my appointment today, the service guy said it is just a normal oil change as those inspections fall under their standard checklist each time an oil change is performed.

I then asked him what the difference is between A1 and B1 in terms of cost, and he just said an oil change covers everything B tells you to inspect.

I was expecting to pay the $200 so I don't care if it costs more, I just want to make sure everything is inspected that is suppose to be.

Any thoughts on this?

I usually get charged the same for a A1 and B1 service. Around $26 for oil change, inspections, and car wash. I also:
- take my own oil in (Mobil 5w-30 syn oil)
- tire rotation already done (Lifetime @ discount tire)
- wheel balance already done (Lifetime @ discount tire)
- cabin air filter (fresh breeze cabin filter from Walmart)
- engine air filter (K/N drop-in filter)
- alignment twice a year (lifetime @ firestone)

Acura supplies the oil filter, labor, and oil disposal. I let the service manager know what was done by me before and he lets the tech know. They usually let me know if they find anything that needs attention like brakes at 25% or if I need to replace the power steering hose because of a recall.

I think you are paying for the labor for the 15 minutes of inspections (I think is part of their normal routine):
-Service front and rear brakes
-Inspect parking brake adjustments
-Inspect tie rod ends, steering gear box and boots
-Inspect suspension components
-Inspect driveshaft boots
-Inspect brake hoses and lines (including ABS)
-Rotate tires , inspect for wear and adjust pressure
-Check all fluid levels, condition of fluids and check for leaks
-Inspect exhaust system
-Inspect fuel lines and connections

Unless you are racing or going off roading with your TSX; the oil change and tire rotation is all you need.
