Auxilary Input?

Auxilary Input?
Has anyone here used the auxilary input? If so, how much does the kit cost? Do you use your mp3 player? I wanted to use my cell phone as the source, since I can receive online streaming radio. Anyone?

No kit, just need a audio cable to connect...standard mini jacks for both (probably, but check your phone to be sure).
Be aware that the standard output level from MP3 players tends to be weak for the TSX. I picked up a penguin amp ( http://www.penguinamp.com/) to boost the level and it works great.

Not knowing which model you have, but my 04 didn't have one. So back then only the SNHOND3 was available plus I'm putting a AUX3 from logjamelectronics.com to create a true mp3 player input using the input from an 09 Accord and custom wiring so I can have my Sirius unit and my Sansa Fuze input music in. I still have a bunch of wiring to run, but that's the plan at the moment. There are plenty of options for adding an aux input now, just depends what you have.

Good call Moda...I re-read his post and saw I possibly misunderstood. I assumed he had a '06 and up with the already available AUX input...he might be referring to the kit to install one, my bad.

Well i have a 2004 tsx and have the shonda installed now for years. But i'm wondering if any new better solutions came out since then. I just need a standard 3.5mm jack and use my cell phone for my music as it has a standard 3.5mm headphone jack also. Any new solutions out there that are better?

I have an '06 that came with the Aux Jack in the Center console. What i did was use This Belkin Ipod kit that powers from the 12V and you use a 3.5 Stereo cable Male male to plug it to the aux port. If you want a Dock Connector to your Ipod you can stop there (it wont charge your Itouch or Iphone but it will play through it). I took it one step further and bought a Bluetooth Ipod stereo dongle. Now I can play my blackberry (pandora) or itouch through the car

James, do you notice poor volume. I've used a Penguin Amp for a couple of years now and after solving the intermittent static issue (placement is key, just drop it down into the center console well...if you leave it on top by the crink holders, the amp causes static) it's GREAT.

No not really. The sound is actually pretty clear. The belkin has a volume tool on it so I have it cranked up and you can still control the blue tooth volume form the blackberry or itouch
