Anyone use LG VX8600 w/bluetooth?

Hello,

I've been lurking for a while and appreciate the information I've picked up. I'm likely going to buy a TSX within the next couple of months. I also happen to need to get a new phone right now, and am interested in the LG VX8600. I looked it up on handsfreelink.com and it is listed as "noncompatible." Anyone have any experience attempting to use this phone with the TSX? I'm hoping that the handsfreelink site is wrong/out-of-date.........

Thanks very much.

I'm using a VX8300 from Verizon on an 06 TSX, and it works fine -- battery life indicator and signal strength show too.

No, but close. It's the flip phone version of the chocolate. I think it is a little bit newer than the chocolate.

I purchased the LG vx8700 the day I bought the car and it works great. It shows the number dialed, battery level, and signal strength. When I called Acura before I purchased it they said it was being tested.

Here's the word from our friends at HFL:

Thank you for contacting us regarding the LG VX8600.

We have a very rigorous testing procedure and unfortunately, the VX8600 did not pass our testing for compatibility with HandsFreeLink. There were too many issues with the phone.

We are only able to provide support for the compatible phones listed on HandsFreeLink.com. The phone has to have Bluetooth and a "handsfree" profile and to have passed our testing in order to be compatible. A "headset" profile is not compatible with HandsFreeLink. We do not have any other knowledge regarding this phone or have any troubleshooting tips.

Please refer to HandsFreeLink.com and search the list of compatible phones under "find a phone" to ensure you purchase a phone that has been approved to work with your HandsFreeLink system. You will need to enter your vehicle information and then search by your carrier or manufacturer. Click on any phone icon to review important information regarding the features supported by that phone as well as specific software requirements, where applicable.

If you have any further questions or comments, please feel free to contact our Customer Service Team at 1-888-528-7876. We are available Mon - Fri, 7am - 8pm CT.

Sincerely,

HandsFreeLink Customer Support
