No...you're on crack.

j/k

But seriously, the lines are distinctly different. They really don't look that alike at all.

wtf?! dude the Camry does NOT look like a TL, no offense to your opinion. The TL ripped off those wide-bodied Italian sedans, it even has some French cues in it.

To answer the original question, I think they share a small resemblance. Similar to the old accords and the second generation TL's.

Actually, I think the 3-series is a cousin of Civic. E36 = EG & E46 = EF

Objectively speaking, they do share a small resemblance.... well, one's a Civic, one's an Accord and they've always shared some small resemblance. The only resemblance I see is if you closely look at the rear quater panel/bumper angle and you see that gap that's at an angle (I realized this when I had my TSX parked next to a Civic), and the four round tail-lights at night. I mean even these resemblances are not obvious. The shape of the grills look alike, but that's also true for most of the cars in the Honda/Acura lineup. Other than that, they don't look alike.

The IS's front end is kind of Honda Generic but if you look closely the car has details that make for an interesting design. Whereas a Civic, is a Civci. Perfect family transportation.

Civic = TSX? No way, but I have to say that the civic coupes behind looks similar though as is the RSX's.

I've also been pondering this question...

Anyone think that the TL looks like a bigger TSX?

I think the TSX looks more like the last-gen Camry than anything. Especially the taillights. Flame me...... now.

i think the front looks like the 6.

then the tails look like a camry.

then the bumper reflectors and wheels look like they came from a bimmer.

the mirror looks like a benz mirror.

man our car is a mutt. it's a psuedo mazda-toyota-bmw-mercedes.

word.

i bet the engineers at honda stole the left over parts from those other guys and jammed it into the tsx.

Haha...no no no...I think that boring PWP needs to go. For a car this dynamic, we need something with a little more excitement.

i gotta admit, if the pwp came with white it would be sportier . but personally, i kinda like the parchment interior with the white.

it makes me feel - CLASSY.

YES!! Though if the TL came out before the TSX...would you think the TSX is a smaller TL?

I agree, I think the 6 is the car that most looks like the TSX, especially with body kits. I prefer the chiseled look of the TSX and I don't really like the bulging tail lights on the Mazda.

The 6 has a V6 and 220 hp, but if you look at acceleration figures in Car & Driver they are actually identical. As usual Honda does more with a smaller engine.

And yes, the IS300 does look like a souped-up Civic.

I actually prefer the exterior of the IS300 to the TSX and was very tempted to get one instead. THe interior, however, is what sold me on the TSX imediately. I HATE the IS300 interior (with those weird chronograph instruments) and its cheap plasticky dash material (not to mention the nasty pseudo-suede and ugle door panels). I'll take the TSX any day.

I too looked at the IS300 and just couldn't get past the chronograph instruments. (And the TSX was much less expensive).
