Anyone else disappointed in the throws on the 6MT?
I finally found a 6MT TSX to test drive, and I was really disappointed in the throws on it. I didn't expect them to be as short as the 6MT on my S2000, but I feel like the throws on the TSX are as long as my old Civic. I really expected a sportier feel that that. Heck even the 6MT TL (that I drive right after the TSX) seemed to have marginally shorter throws. I was just curious if anyone else feels the same?

I guess if you really want to complain you can always do about the throws, but I thought until now it was wonderful compared to my previous Accords.
Granted, the TSX is no S2000...

I read that the throws on the new 6MT are 45mm, and are as short as Honda has ever done, except for the NSX andS2K......I found it interesting that they say "as short as", implying that other models have been the same; maybe the RSX or the new TL?
The big difference for me between the TSX and the S2K is the angle that you approach the shifter at. The S2K allows me to lay my arm out flat on the center console and wrap my hand around it, so that I can shift without moving my arm at all, just my wrist. The center console on the TSX is in the way, and so I have to use my entire arm.

And I find both the RSX and TSX to have very nice shifts, the TSX feels a lot smoother though. No way is it in the same league as the Civic.

BTW, I wasn't the only one that got that impression after driving the 6MT TSX. I was intenionally mum about it at first since my wife hadn't yet driven the car, and the first comment she made about the TSX after she drove it was is that she felt the 6MT wasn't as sporty as she expected.

I have driven quite a few stickshifts and i'd say the the throws on the TSX are most def on the short side of things but not silly short.. I drove a WRX with a short throw package and that was like snick snick snick.... I think the TSX has a sporty but reasonable shift throw. But it most def is not as long as a stock civic per se.

I don't think I would expect the TSX to shift "nicer" than the S2K but I'm sure that the Civic is anywhere close to TSX though. There is a reason why the TSX is 34800CAD compared to the S2K which is 48000CAD and a Civic SiR is 26000CAD??
btw. The RSX-S has a pretty notchy gear box especially when 99% of them have a 3rd synchro problem.
