Another one bites the dust...bye TSX

Well it's been a fun 2 years but we decided to trade in our 2004 6MT non navi for a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe 3.3GL. We needed more room and got a great deal on trading in the TSX, $500 short of what I wanted to get privately without the hassle of lowballers and tire-kickers. This allowed me to pay off the balance on the TSX plus $3,500 in my pocket so I can't complain. The monthly payments will be less than what I'm paying now and insurance will be a tad cheaper aswell.

The Santa Fe is missing some nicities that were in the TSX but I think I can live without them (moon roof) or have them installed aftermarket at a later time (hid lights).

I've had Honda's all my life so it will be hard to leave the comfort zone but hopelly this will be an enjoyable experience.

The SF is on order so I still have a few more days to boot around the TSX before I become SoccerDad.

Congrats, I'm a big fan of the SF, but an even bigger fan of the Veracruz. Lets us know how it treats you.

I haven't driven any Hyundai's in a few years, nor am I familiar with the Sante Fe model, but most of my reading indicates that in recent years the line of products has made a significant upgrade in quality, to the point of approaching Honda and Toyota. I say happy motoring with the new ride.

Congrats - I think Hyundai has made some great strides. The only thing I am not a fan of, at least with the SUVs, is the way they look.

From what i have read Hyundai is doing very well, making some very good cars as of late. A friends wife has a Santa Fe and she loves it.

Congrats on the new SF. A friend of mine has been driving hers for 6 months and absolutely loves it. jlukja said it well. Hyundai has come a long, long way since the PoS Pony!

I'm looking at the SF or the Veracruz myself to replace my wife's 1998 Pathfinder...

I agree, Hyundai really improved their brand name by benchmarking HONDA Motor Corp's reliability.

Hyundai's of today are awesome vehicles. My uncle just bought a Veracruz (when he could easily afford pretty much any lux-o-barge) and is more than pleased with it. It's so nice inside, I felt as though it was double its actual cost. It sure was refreshing to see Hyundai make such a quality product after starting off as a total budget brand.

I've said to myself that if/when we look for a midsize SUV after we have our second child, the SF or Veracruz will definitely be starting at the top of the list (and I've driven nothing but Honda my entire life, so I love a quality, solidly-built product)

The SF is nice, but I really like the Veracruz. I just wish they had Nav on their models, but I hear they'll be coming out with it in about a year and a half (2009 models). I'll probably be starting my family by then and I'm really going to consider the VC.

(humming the tune to ''88 lines about 44 women") Yes. This is why I removed my age from the profile schtuff....

I saw ROCKET SCIENCE recently and felt really old when I identified an instrumental piece as Burt Bacharach's theme song to The Blob.
