aftermarket wheel locks

i don't know how many of you guys got free WLs from your dealer, but i didn't (would rather pay $25 for aftermarket WLs than pay $50 at the dealer).

so i read through the manual, but it didn't say anything about the wheel lugs. i was wondering if anyone could help me find out the correct size/shape/etc, so that i can go and buy some aftermarket WLs. please post the following:
1) thread size
2) key hex size
3) shape of WLs

i've heard that mcgard and gorillas make really good WLs. any experience w/ either one? recommendations?

mcgard's website (fyi):
http://www.mcgard.com/automotive/product.asp?page=4

edit: or perhaps, someone who bought the acura WLs, if they could read their packaging and give me the info, that would be great as well.

Mcgard makes the OEM locks for Acura or you should be able to find an Acura/Honda set on Ebay for under $25. I just bought and sold a set on Ebay.

I've heard that wheel locks really aren't much protection, that wheels will still get stolen if the crooks want them cause the wheel locks are relatively easy to get off using other methods. And you have to carry a key around with you to change a flat tire, which seems a little strange. Do you think they really help stop wheel theft, or is it just more of a nuisance?

well if the thief sees two identical cars and wants to steal the wheels, i think he would steal the guy who doesn't have WLs.

Having wheel locks on a car is like having a deadbolt on your home's front door... It's an added level of protection that can be bypassed. Theft is usually a by-product of convenience.

Exactly. Nothing is 100% secure. I got the wheel locks with the car (I won't say for free since the dealer made out like a bandit regardless). I have the standard rims that came with the TSX and I can't imagine they are going to be worth the trouble of stealing with wheel locks on them.

Yeah I have them at home (I am at work at the moment) and I will post the info later this evening.

In the meantime email the guys at hondacuraworld.com and see if they have them. I did a search and they have them for other Acuras (for around $35) but they didn't have the TSX listed.

Well it can be surprising how OEM wheels can be in demand.

Last spring I had one kid that was on a rampage trying to steal my OEM 7 spokes on my 95 EX Accord, but good for me, I caught him (thanks to my landlord who saw him while he was going for a piss), took out my #5 wood and beat the hell outta him, until the cops arrived. That oughta have taught something to the little rascal.

My brother had wheel locks on all 4 wheels on his Integra. Somehow, someone figured out how to get them off and steal his wheels twice.

Any idea how this is possible? Makes me wonder if it's even worth getting

The way I look at it....$25-50 is not that much of an investment to add protection to something worth $800+- . Sure, it's not 100%, but if they want them that bad, they're gonna have to work for it.

P.S. Glad to have this site up. Looks like it's definitely taking a toll on the "other" site.
