Aftermarket HID Kit on Mazda 3 vs TSX Stock HID (9 Pics, 50KB each)

Just installed a set of aftermarket HID kit-Xtec 5000K HID on my 2005 Mazda 3 HB. I have taken many night shots with Before (Stock Halogen), After (Xtec 5000K kit) and compare to light output of my 2004 TSX stock HID.

What do you think?

Before, After, TSX Stock HID (Front)

Before, After, TSX Stock HID (Cutoff)

Before, After, TSX Stock HID (Output)

TSX stock HID slightly > Xtec 5000K kit massively > Halogen

The Mazda lights in the wall pic aren't as bright. When you look at the TSX pic, you can see a window at the bottom of the wall. Mazda didn't even show that! Nice.....

(yes, I'm being sarcastic)

My friend has a Mazda 6 and he wants Xenon headlights in it. I assume that the 3 and the 6 have similar headlight housings so what would he have to do to get his headlights to look like the ones in the pics?? Could he just change the bulbs or is there more work involved???

People,

I just replaced the Halogen bulbs with HID bulbs with ballasts and used the same stock projector. Please bear in mind the stock projector is not designed for HID light while TSX has the whole HID package. As a result, TSX HID will give out better output.

The whole aftermarket costs $300 shipped while factory HID option costs $700. Consider the output, i am very happy.

About Mazda 6, i heard you have to put a shield to reduce glare while this is not necessary in Mazda 3. I guess stock projector in Mazda 3 has a very similar design as factory HID projector.

Yes, very easy. Plug and play kit. Use stock hardness and fuse.
