Adjusting the Clutch Engagement Point

My clutch engages fairly close to the floor... I need to push it to the wall when shifting from 1st to 2nd... less so for higher gears.

Is it possible to have the engagement point 'raised' by the dealer so that less pedal travel is required to engage the clutch and avoid any gear grinding?

Yes it is. At the top of the clutch is the clutch push-rod locknut, push-rod and connector. That is for desired clutch height, but I'm assuming by pushing it out, that will make the clutch engage sooner.

For those with Service Manual, pg. 12-4 of the 2004 edition.

How many miles are on your car and how good of an MT driver are you? If your engangement point is really close to the floor your clutch might be slipping. Has it been getting lower and lower or has it always been like that? The engagement point on my TSX is closer to the middle of the clutch's travel.

I've only owned the car for 2 months.... bought it with 56K km (35K miles). I've been driving stick for years and haven't noticed any change over the two months.

Thanks for the feedback.... I'll have a chat with the dealer at my next service interval.

My guess is maybe the previous owner was rough with the clutch. If it has slipped they will replace it under warrantee.
