She said: it's GINORMOUS!
honda/acura has always been tops since honda rolled out navi systems in the '90s. i don't know how spoiled we are until i sat in an audi/bmw/toyota....then i knew what i was missing.
every past generation of cars, honda's system has been top 5.

Go Flames Go!
Yep, I've messed around with other navi(s) too and I find the hondacura systems to be one if not the best and the easiest to use. I don't have navi on mine since I didn't want to wait but my parent's Pilot and MDX does. Yeah, I do regret not waiting but at least I can go TSX536's way and get a pioneer system.

let's face it, if you have the address to input it's great, but if you're looking for POIs (let's say a costco) you want to break the stupid thing because it will start listing everything costco from on the opposite coast. f'ing stupid system, but cool looking (though i think the lexus menus are more polished looking)

But I don't think the review takes into account POI's. Otherwise, whoever's database is the most comprehensive will win. But you have to admit, it's the easiest to use, and is quite fast. I even quit using the gps system during my last vacation in hawaii because it was so stupid compared to my tsx's navi system. Freakin gps system in the rental car had me merge through several lanes in bumper to bumper traffic so I can turn onto a road....it then made me do a u-turn and merge back into the road I was just on....

Try using the sort by distance feature and you'll be a much happier person.

The other day I was looking for Trader Joe's. I know there is one nearby but it just couldn't find it by name. I eventually got the address and phone number from yellow book. I keyed in the phone number and, guess what, the Navi found the store but its name was "Store 641" not Trader Joe's.
It makes me wonder maybe they hired a monkey to key those POI in.

Both my TSX and A4 have navigation, and I absolutely love the TSX one because of how easy it is to use. The only good things about the A4 navigation are the quick initial loading speed and the night mode being very visible during the daytime.

TSX 2006 without navigation - after market NAV?
Hi guys
i just bought a new Acura 2006 TSX without NAV, i was even told by the sales guy at Acura that i can get an aftermarket NAV installed for cheap. So i went an bought a Pioneer AVIC-D2 and took it to Car Toys for installation. They looked at my car and said its impossible to install it. The Radio controls are connected to climate and heater controls and everything is one unit it cannot be changed, so only way to get a NAV is to buy a NAV installed Acura. I feel so pissed and sad for not getting my car with NAV in the first place. It has only been 1 month, what can i do? :-(

The Lincoln what has the best one? I thought lincoln went out of business..... JK! To be truthful, I work on cars all day every day and have yet to even see the car they're talkin about in person. I think JD powers just got tired of mentioning the TSX and needed to drop another name. I bet if you and I tested the lincoln/pioneer nav we would disagree. Remember, the average age of a Lincoln driver is like 75yrs old so it must be super user friendly or have pictures to make it easy like ordering from a Deny's menu....even retards can do it. I've been able to play with a bunch of oem navs and ours is the best yet. I will have to say that Pioneer has the best aftermarket unit i've seen (Z-1).
For all that don't have Nav....98% of you regret not getting it. The other 2% have a little bit of regret. It's the $#it!! So the next time a Noob starts a thread titled "should I get nav?," just say YES!!!

I rode in my friends Dodge Magnum and the Alpine Nav included is total crap compared to ours.
No voice command, and you have to input indivicual letters for everything. On top of that you can't enter anything once the car is moving (for safety)

2004 TSX NAV 5AT MSM
I have been using my NAV in my 2004 TSX (bought in April 2003) and the NAV system is indeed excellent. This confirms what I already knew.
Now if there was only an easy and inexpensive way to upgrade the NAV in my 2004 to a 2006 version.

I recently went from an 06 TL with nav to an IS with nav.
When I had my TL, I had to take it in for various things & got nothing but TSXs for loaners. I have to say that the first time I started using the TSX nav, I really preferred it to my TL's. I don't remember specifics that I liked better, but after 2 days of using it (I use is quite a bit - my sense of direction is horrible), I do remember telling my wife that I would like to know if you can get the TSX nav installed in my TL instead.
As for the IS nav, I've driven the car for 2 months now and can honestly say that I like it quite a bit better than either of the 2 Acura systems I used. It's considerably quicker to load, the screen is a much higher resolution, the interface is a lot smoother, and finding what you're looking for is always easier and much more accurate.
