Acura Tsx Full Nose Mask
Hey, anyone out there want to buy a brand new full nose mask? I tried eBaying it, but with no luck. The only reason why I don't want it is I was going to cover up a blemish I got on the hood which is now fixed. Any offers?

BUMP.....
Just wondering everyone's thoughts on the nose mask. I am starting to get plenty of rock chips in the front of the car. Is this a good investment? I found it for ~$110 on ebay, from a dealer. Does it do any damage to the hood? Thought I remember hearing that somewhere, but maybe not.
Thanks for the info.

As far as experience, I have a ClearBra on my '06 TSX and I must say that while the hood is already pitted (I've posted elsewhere on this, will be talking with a dealer rep July 31st), the nose of the car is in perfect shape. I've also had my lights covered with clear tape & would have also done so to the fogs had they not already both cracked in less than 6 months of driving. Ugggghhh!
I've got a clear bra on my wife's Jetta as well. The VW paint seems to be of better quality, so it's not as important there, but still... having owned older (>15yr) cars, they can get pretty nappy up front without a bra.
One drawback: when the car is dirty, and... well even when it's mostly clean, you can tell that the front of it is plastic; it's not as bright as the uncovered paint.
Good luck with your decision. Either way, protecting the nose is a good idea IMHO.

If you are... well I'm very jealous, and we'll leave it at that.

Nope...the 929 is just a number I added...lines up with other forums I am on. Tough to keep them all straight so, I try to stick with just one...LOL
I would be jealous too if my second ride was a 929....and very heavily in debt
Thanks again for your input I do appreciate it...I guess I should start looking for a clear bra dealer and see what sort of deal I can make.

Let me help you!
stupid firewall blocked my post. anyway, i'll do the cliffnotes version of it.
disadvantage of mask:
- paint underneath does not fade equally with uncovered paint
- trapped water (from rain) or debris can cause damage
disadvantage of clear bra:
- professionally installed (ie: money)
clear bra only covers 1/3 of front, but it's better than mask. mask is recommended for going on long trips (but take it off when you're not on a long trip). If you like the look, want to cover damage, and probably will never take the mask off again, then it might be your preferred choice.
If you're going to clear bra a damaged hood, you might want to get it professionally fixed since the clear bra will make it permanent.
As for the 06 foglight comment...i heard it was so common, but i'm still waiting for mine to break. Driving behind gravel trucks releasing tons of gravel on my car hasn't done anything to my car (not even scratches). Good to know dealer might consider fixing it for free (in case my luck changes)

I wonder why people have such a problem with rock chips and broken fog lights. I'm guessing they just follow traffic too closely, or have bad luck...
There is a chip in the chrome grill on my car, but I bought it used that way.

This thread was started 8 years ago, I doubt the person even has the car.
