Acura Spoiler

Does anyone know if Acura sell a stock lip spoiler? I wanna stay out of the whole aftermarket realm if can.

I don't think Acura provides us with any OEM lip spoilers.

Damn it...thats what I thought. I cant stand a high wing spoiler, the one that Acura offers is too high for my taste. I just want something to break up the trunk a little and give it some angle. Thanks

you can try the m3 lip spoiler that a lot of people here have.

it's not too bad...i've been thinking of getting one.

EDIT: nevermind...obviously i didn't read the part where you said you didn't want to go aftermarket.

What's so wrong with aftermarket?

I have no complaints at all with my lip spoiler.

I believe there's an OEM lip spoiler for the European Accord, but you'd have to get it shipped from Europe.

Dan

Do you have a pic of yours? I have seen other photos, but would like to see as many as possible before I take the "plunge". Especially from the side.

BTW...I am assuming you have an m3 lip spoiler

thanks

It's called the Ducktail spoiler or something along those lines.

You are correct. It's hard to find and if you do find it, kinda pricey depending on your budget for a spoiler.

That lip spoiler is very subtle. I have it and i think is not worth that buck, but i like it anyway. Spoon is a good alternative.

I like the Spoon one also but it's hard to find and very pricey. Someone needs to get one and mold some replica's.

Yes there is a lip spoiler!

I just ordered my new TSX today from the dealer today. They gave me two options for a spoiler. The first is the more pronounced spoiler that you see commonly. The other one was a bit cheaper(35 bucks or so), a very subtle spoiler that they showed me as an example on a TL. Its very small, looks good, but without a third brake light.

Is it like the one in the picture above (silver Accord/TSX) ? If not, do you have any pics??

Hmmm....
If thats the case I may have to visit the dealer tomorrow to ask about that one.

It's not on acura.com yet (as far as a build-your-own option)

The one the Knox posted looks pretty sweet. Maybe that is the one....

Unfortunately I don't have pictures but my dealership had their own book of accessories, even some things I didn't know they had. The spoiler does look similar to the one posted above, although I only saw it on a TL. I chose the regular spoiler as my only option after looking at the silver trim kit and the silver steering wheel I started to notice that you pay a lot for a very small amount of added trim/detail. Sorry to deviate from the topic, but I just ordered the car and I can't figure out what the small red felt area is for if someone in their next reply can just add that in there, haha thanks.

Whatever it is, it's "Not an Ashtray"!!!

I wonder if your dealer was trying to put on an aftermarket lip spoiler and pawn it off as OEM Acura?

I would really like to know about this also, i have the lip spolier from xenonspecialist and to mount it properly, it has to be set a little back from the edge and i don't like how that looks. Keep us posted, i'm gonna do some searches of my own too, i'll let everyone know if i find anything.

I was at the dealership yesterday (5,000 mile service) and asked at the parts counter about this.
The guy said that he did not know of a lip spoiler for the TSX, looked it up on his computer and it wasn't there either. I did not see a parts catalog to look through, but I do believe him.

He did mention however, that he heard it was "talked" about putting out a lip spoiler on the '06, but it never materialized. He seemed pretty sure though, that Acura would have one as an option for the 2007 TSX. I think the popularity of the lip spoiler on the TL might bring this around. Hopefully the body syle doesn't change too much and it will fit my '06.

I am going to look again when the '07s come out and if still not, I will probably go with the xenonspecialists one.

It's not an Acura part, it's a Honda part from overseas. That's why your dealer can't find it.

If you want the OEM Honda ducktail spoiler, talk to MrHeeltoe and he can import one for you.

What I certainly do know about spoilers, I got my from the dealership when I purchased the car and it was all installed and looks great (same one as shown on the acura.com website) and it is defintley from Acura since if you look under the spoiler in the center it says TSX etched in it. The dealership disconnected the third brake light from rear deck. Visibility is effected by this slightly, but not bad.

From most angles, I like the Acura wing just fine. I think the effect on visibility is neglible, and it in fact helps to show you where the butt of the car is, especially helpful for my wife, who's 5'2" and can't see the trunklid (actually, I can't either, and I suspect most can't). The only thing is the third brake light just happens to fill up much of the viewable space underneath the wing, so I plan to remove that once I figure out how. As far as "disconnecting" the third brake light, all they did was remove the bulb, so if you really wanted, you could just put one back in. My big pet peeve is about that embossed "TSX" on the underside of the wing. They should have made it a mirror image, so that whey you look at it's reflection on the decklid, it looks right. The way it is now, you either see it backwards when you see it's reflection on the decklid, or you have to stoop way down and then look up at it to see it right.
