I am in the market for a 2006 tsx in miami. One dealer is offering tires for life on the tsx i buy. is this a deal that should really affect my decison on where i buy my tsx. how much is just one set of tires for a tsx? How long is an average time of keeping a car and how often are the tire changes? Thanks

Assuming that you will keep the car of a minimum of 5 years, and the average price for 17 inch wheel tires is about 100 dollars each. Thats 400 dollars per change so im gonna say about 2000 dollars minimum. Could be put towards a nice turbo kit!

Accura of Portland, where I bought my TSX, offers the same deal, but the catch is that you must have them do all sched. maintenance on the car. A big downside (for me) to the deal is that all replacement tires are the stock Michelins, which are little loved -- just check threads on this site or www.tirerack.com to see how many TSX drivers have found other tires with better performance at way less than the $185 per tire that the Michelins cost.
I'm looking into a set Avons from Tirerack myself; they offer better wet performance (vital in my area!) and they're quieter to boot, and even with shipping and installation they come in at cheaper than anything comparable I can find locally.

I'd say it's not worth it from the dealer since they will probably only give you stock tires. I'd take a huge discount or something instead. There's probably a catch or something too.

As was mentioned above, some places required you do all your maintenance with them.
That usually cost big $$. Tires are not worth it IMO unless you plan on having the dealership do the maintenance anyway.
