Acura Magazine

So I got this Acura magazine in the mail , called "Expressions". Is this an Acura of Canada thing or what?

I've not seen anyone else post about this. The one I got is the fall/winter addition so I am assuming there will be more. I just briefly flipped through it so far, but the cover story/feature is of course on the new TL. There is something on the MDX, an article on Tuscany (not sure how it relates to cars , if at all), some good coverage of the Montreal Indy, etc. There is a little bit of TSX stuff in there too. I saw a pic of a Milano red TSX from some montreal atuo show (or maybe it was the F1 race).

Has anyone else seen this magazine yet? (Or maybe I am the first to get it )

...as far as I know, everyone who becomes an Acura customer in Canada automatically gets a subscription to "Expressions", I've been getting it now for over four years. It has, more or less, the same layout each issue, comes out quarterly, and is definitely aimed at a clientele with a lot more discretionary income than I have to throw around, so you will find that many of the articles are written for folks who may actually afford to own something like an NSX. Nonetheless, its free and it makes for interesting reading material in the throne room...

I got one today too. I agree with Lorne Miller's assesment. It strikes me as a kind of bizzare mix of Acura brochure, Sharper Image catalog and Esquire magazine. With a fitness article thrown in for good measure

Yeah, I hear there's a picture of the revised Canadian-only Acura EL. I don't care for it, but I'm just curious to see if it's going to look like the restyled Civics.

Acura EL, eh? Wow, is the market that different to warrant a new car in Canada vs. U.S. (a bit off topic I guess).

OK here we go. Pics came out crappy...but I dont have a scanner.

FYI .. some of the sections in the mag include: Health Matters, Money Manager, Cars, Travel, Entertaining, Adventure, Origins, Sports, Acura World of Golf, Tech Talk, Driving Tips.

Here are a few pics .... including the 2004 EL.

Actually I'm surprised, ... alot of the articles are actually pretty good.

Awesome, thanks! I'm not a fan at all of the Civic's look recently, and the EL is better. Thanks again.

Picked up my TSX yesterday and the salesperson said she'd look into whether we get it. I think it's quarterly, so many TSX owners may not have recieved it yet or may just be recieving the first issue...

Looks like the kind of thing we would get, as it has advertising and promotional-type articles. BMW owners get a BMW-produced mag...

Yep. Got one yesterday. First photos I've seen of the new EL, not that I've been looking. The headlights look different than what I've seen for the 04 Civic.

domn, do I take it from your sig that your VIN ends w/ 800602? Mine is 800900 and I picked it up end of Aug. I have a feeling it sat on the dealers lot for a while.

Not sure what comes before the 602 but I'll check for you. I could be wrong but my car I think is number 602 into Canada and yours 900. At the T.O meet earlier this year I had the lowest or one of the lowest VIN's and I was also one of the first to get the car so ya your car may have been at the dealer awhile, but as long as it sat there and had low km's whats the harm?

I got my "expressions" mag on Monday night as well. The reason I was asking is that bowersan wanted the EL pics to show a friend. But my wife brought the mag to work yesterday and its AWOL. Looks like bowersan found the pics anyway though.

We get a magazine called Acura Style and received copies at least four times a year since we bought our MDX in 2001. It sounds very much like the Expressions magazine with a mix of Acura automotive news, style and other topics. Maybe we were included in the distribution list because I joined the Acura owner's link on the Acura.com website.
In the last issue we received there were articles and ads for the TSX which really grabbed my interest. So I went out and bought one.

Yeah, car had < 80km on it when I got it, so I'm not worried. It had been in the showroom, but doesn't seem any worse for it. Mine is IBP/6MT which is probably a slow moving combo. The expressions mag was a surprise, I had never heard of it before.

...sounds like the "Acura Style" mag is most likely the same publication but edited for the U.S. market, whereas "Expressions" is edited for the Canadian marketplace. I signed up with some kind of Acura owners group site soon after I got my car in September '99 and started getting the mag soon after. I am looking at the last issue I received, Spring/Summer 2003 which introduces the TSX, has a writeup about driving an RSX on a trip visiting golf resorts through eastern Canada, and has pics of the "concept TL" show car from the New York show, it also has things on money management, gourmet cooking ideas, live theatre reviews, hints on how to improve your golf game, and an article on the Honda Collection Hall at Twin Ring Motegi, Japan. The inide masthead info says its published twice a year and distributed to Acura automobile owners. Going by the volume number the magazine is only into its fourth year of publication.
If you don't get it, you might be able to contact Acura in either Canada or the U.S. and ask about the mag, see what they know about it...

saw my first IBP on the road yesterday. I've seen a red, a black, a couple of silvers, and 2 or 3 white's over the past few months - so yeah, the IBP is probably not selling as quickly as the others. But I still thought it looked pretty good - gotta keep that thing shined/polished though.

I've only seen one other IBP besides mine and the really annoying thing is I see it nearly every day on the way to work! ARG. :P

Keeping it clean is hard, but not quite as bad as my previous car (black). Besides, my kids have to earn their allowance somehow.

am I the only unlucky one who gets to see about 5 tsx's per day?
doesn't matter where or when I go out (weekday, weekend, whatever).
and I know that they aren't always the same ones.
We have so many in mississauga, t.o., whitby, etc, its not funny. not like a civic, but see as many of these as I do g35's. which is less than the bmw 3 but more than the audi a4.
the expressions comes 4 times a year. they actually send me 2 every time.

and my vin # is 800302, so I beat Domn.

I didn't click on anything special at the Acura owner's link. The magazine just came to my address. Somehow they must have tracked my location probably through the owner link because we moved from California (where I bought the MDX) to Arizona. It is a pretty nice magazine with lots of information. You might want to contact them through the owner link and ask to be put on the mailing list.
