Acura Certified Pre-owned Question

Hi everyone,

I recently purchased an '08 TSX 6MT with the Acura warranty just a few weeks ago. However, I have noticed that there is uneven wear on the driver side front tire and the car also pulls quite to the left. The 150-point inspection mentions uneven tire wear and steering pull, so I have no idea why they didn't notice this in their inspection. So this should be covered under warranty, no?

Cheers,
Massimo

I'd be much more likely to trust an Acura dealer to answer this question that anyone here. I mean, it is their warranty, right?

True. Was looking to see if maybe someone had some experience with pre-owned warranty issues.

I would look over the warranty and see what it says. If nothing else call the sales person that sold you the car and/or the sales manager. It may very well be that even though they noticed it in their inspection they chose not to address it unless the potential consumer (you) noticed it and told them to fix it. The dealer will try to spend the least amount of money possible on a used car to get it ready for sale, certified or not.

So I had the alignment checked at the dealership and as I thought, everything is off. The front toe is off significantly and the tie rods need to be replaced. Some of the bolts are seized so they are going to have to use a torch to get them off. They want over $800. I talked to the service manager who sold me the car and he gave me some run around bs. I talked to the service manager today and he is going to talk to the sales manager and get back to me tomorrow.

Can you guys help me out?? I need all the points I can get in the event that they come back and say there is nothing they can do.

Thanks in advance.

1) They inspected the car and found the defect.

2) They then elected NOT to fix or investigate the defect and sold the car under warranty.

3) The car is presented to them with this defect for repair.

I would suggest the line being that a car sold with a CPO has an express warranty of merchantability (in the US, Canadian mileage may vary) beyond the CPO coverage and the dealer knowing selling a vehicle with a defect is committing fraud. Suggest you start by looking here:
