About to Buy my new TSX... Need Advice???

I am a 25 year old female who has really no clue about cars, however I went and test drove the tsx and fell in LOVE!!! I have been doing some research on this car and have decided to purchase the TSX. I want the 6speed manual trans. w/ Navigation system in Carbon Grey Pearl, with Ebony interior. Any advice. I currently own an '89 Toyota Corolla SR5, so this will be my first NEW CAR!!! I would like to know anything and everything I should know before buying this car. I love my exterior color choice, but is quartz or ebony nicer??? I put my deposit down today just to order the car. I am SOOOOO EXCITED!!!!!! Please, any advice would be GREAT!!!

Welcome to the club. You obviously have great taste (hehe). Anyways, you can't go wrong with either interior colour IMO. I personally, like the ebony interior best, but that's me. As for purchasing, it depends entirely where you live and the current availability on the lot. The same car buying rules apply to the TSX (that is supply vs demand). You've chosen the most popular color, so your wiggle room on the price may not be as good as for another color (for example meteor silver, or red etc) that isn't as popular and therefore those cars are likely to be found sitting on the dealer's lot. Just make sure you visit several dealerships in your area, get some quotes, and be sure to ask for a few freebies (floor mats, wheel locks, trunk tray etc).

Good luck, and great choice!

I personally like the Ebony interior but Quartz is also nice. Best of luck with that color combination- I wanted the same as you and was told it was just about impossible. I ended up with satin silver/ebony and am happy as can be. I'm thinking you should be able to get about $1000-1500 off MSRP... maybe more based on your local market.

I just got a Carbon Grey with quartz interior; and though I like the color better than the ebony (I think the way the black dash goes to silver trim then to light gray blends very well), but I think that it will be much more difficult to keep clean. If you are anal about keeping you car clean and I am not, so I would have been better suited with the ebony. BUT, and this was the clincher, it would have taken about a month to get the ebony interior and I wanted to buy a car that day. Good luck, one thing I would suggest is to test drive some other cars, just so you know how great the TSX is.

Would suggest you go to two dealers, put money down on the combo you want and wait. I've been waiting for two and a half weeks so far for the same combo, but with AT. I like either ebony or quartz and at this point just want to get the car I don't car which interior it has.

Ebony is a little sportier but likely hotter than the quartz. Quartz is nice looking too. I drove a demo that had ebony and I could see a lot of dust on the dash and seats. Quartz may not show dust as easily but will show smudges and dirt. Either way you will probably be happy.

My fiance and I picked up her carbon grey/quartz TSX today and are very happy. After my fiance totalled her 97 318 a few weeks ago, we test drove most of the other under-30k sport sedans out there, including the saab 9-3, 325i, audi a4, volvo s40 among others. In the end the TSX won due to the better ride, smooth 6sp transmission, and long list of included features. Here in Texas the carbon grey was hard to find but they are out there. Good luck!
