6sp and auto (5sp)

I brought in my car to Acura dealership to have them fix that squeaking sound. I have a 6sp and the loaner I got is a 5sp (auto) and I was wondering if there was any difference in supension between them. Might just be my imagination but the 5sp auto seems more compliant. It couldn't also be that it has more mileage and has been broken in already.

So are there any differences at all, or is it just the transmission?

They should be no different other than transmission. Maybe the tire pressure contributes a lot in your case. But who knows?

The AT does weigh about 100 lbs. more. Maybe there's a slight difference in ride and handling if they've kept the suspension tuning the same.

That's interesting, usually there's a pretty significant difference between the AT and MT on cars. The tsx manual if there's no difference (except for the transmission) should be lower in price. Like take the accord for example, the 6sp costs the same as the automatic but it has bigger tires, perforated leather, better suspension, and even red badge indicating it's a 6sp.

The MT does have a magnesium case and the extra cog, which would increase the cost a bit. I'm sure some of it is the "enthusiast tax". At this price point, customers buy MT because they want a sportier car, not to save money. Car companies see this and unfortunately take advantage of it and price accordingly. Also contributing to this is the fact that 6MT's are somewhat rare in this category.
