6 x 9 grill question

hey guys, ive exhausted teh search feature and im thinking i might just be that dumb that i cant figure this out but...I was trying to replace the 6 x 9's last weekend and im going to try again this saturday. but i couldnt the speaker grill to pop off, i got the front to clips to pop up, but when i tried the back ones, nothing and i was prying pretty hard. is there anything ont eh other side in the trunk that i need to do anything too. if someone could please point me int he right direction on what to do, that owuld be great. i did a bunch of audio and speaker stuff to my civic that proved much easier than my 06 TSX. thanks in advance.

From what I recall, you just need to use some more force to pop the cover off.

There's tab on the very back of the grill that holds the back side down a little. Just pull from the front and then give it one last hard jerk upwards. Gsclifton and I are both extremely strong, but you should be able to get it

The grill has four anchor points. The front two are in those sqare looking holes closer to the seat. When you use something to lift on the forward edge of the grill these tabs pop out first. The second two clips go into the two round holes you see in the white metal deck on either side of the speaker. If you pull up on the grill then the clips should release (or break). You can access these clips from the the inside of the trunk. If you have someone helping you they can pull up on the grill while you pinch the clips in the trunk to ease their slipping thought the holes. Hope this helps.

I folded the rear seats down, got on my back in the trunk/back seat with a pair of pliers and then squeezed the clips as I pushed up with the pliers.

Mine were hard to get out too... putting a flat screwdriver between the grill and 'steel plate' and wricking(?) a bit worked for me. Not broke a single thing.
