500 Mile Club

i was just wondering if anyone has hit more than 500 miles on their tsx... tried searchin but the words were to short

and by 500 i mean for the whole tank.. not saying "oh i avg 34" i want the whole tank not just what u do at every fill up

as for me.. im tryin it right now.. shifting at 1.5-2.5k rpms not taking it up to redline so far im at 3/4s @ 130miles x4 = 520!!!

Kudos to Sauceman, who is probably the only one made it to the club of 750-mile. On the other hand, 500-mile club is more popular in comparison.

On my way down from Chicago I tested my MPG on a ODO and Refill and found that I can average 34MPG going a little over 65 MPH, I don't know how accurate that is, but my largest fill was 16.3GAL so at that rate I should safely get to 554.20 miles, I would love to test this out but there's no drive I'd ever take that was straight 500+ miles of highway... We'll see.

Not around my place. It's as flat as can be (Like in Winnipeg). But I do drive in mountainos areas where I get free rides every once in a while. But it's only payback for having climbed them.

Just thought I'd mention that my 6MT seems to be better on fuel than my AT was. This morning my fuel warning light came on at 360 miles (575 km's). I can usually get another 60 miles or 100 km after the light comes on and still only fill up to14.7G (55L).

The light on my AT would consistently come on at around 330 miles (525 km's).

The best I've ever acheived was with my AT at 468 miles, all highway.

Ok not officially 500 on the odometer, but today I filled up at 486.0 and it only took 15.128 gallons. That's 32 mpg so even if I used 1 more gallon of gas I'd crest the 500 mile mark.
Not bad for using 93 octane Hess gas. Mind you I drive 100 miles (mainly highway) a day during the week. It does seem to be getting alot better gas mileage lately, maybe it's the warmer weather. I usually do around 72mph on the highways.
I now have 20K miles on my AT 2005 ABP!

Interesting. EPA claims that the AT gets better mileage.

On the other hand your AT had a cold-air intake that you did not put on the new one, right?

The intake is a possibility.....We'll find out as soon as I install it on the MT.

I've always wondered about that. In theory, the gearing should make the AT more fuel efficient, but since there is a significant loss of torque through the tranny, I don't believe it's such an easy thing.

Maybe on the highway, the AT could edge the MT, but I don't see that happening in stop and go traffic.

520 miles = 837kms

i haven't even gotten close to that type of mileage.

the best i've done was about 550kms on a full tank.

you're looking at 90/10 city/hwy, with occassional redlining for my driving...
