With the addition of a four cylinder mercedes c-class model in 2012, does the TSX now have a ture four banger competitor in the luxury market?

 

I think so; this reminds me of when Mercedes had the C230 model in the previous generation that came out in '02 as that odd hatchback as a 1.8L 4-cylinder.

Mercedes put that 1.8L engine into the sedan model for '04 to lower the base price, but dropped the 1.8L in favor of a 2.5L V6 in 2006 for the C230 model.

 

It looks like the Mercedes may be a diesel. Does anyone have any specs on it?

I highly doubt the C250 will be a diesel. Looks to be a 4-Cylinder gas engine to me.

 

Looks to be a 1.8L four pot w/ 201 hp and 229 lbs. of torque (it's in the linked article above). Nice car (though the wheels shown would be a nightmare to keep clean)(yah, call me lazy.....).

 

I own the 4 banger Mercedes C230. It's on 03, 135,000 miles, and has been trouble free. Great riding car and the engine has been been smooth and quite the entire time. Just a great car to own. Looking forward to checking out the new one when it comes out.
