Ok so I just bought an 08 TSX and I want to start the EURO R conversion. What do I need to start with.

Full lip kit off an '06 and up Euro R, Right?
Will my stock fog lights work with the kit or do I need to get JDM ones?
Grill, and emblems...
Head lights...

But what comes after all of that?

So I have to buy JDM fog lights? The USDM ones won't work?

Have you ever heard of diff door handles on the EURO R? I swear I saw a pic with dark chrome instead.

Whats different with the tail lights?

Also was I right on the year that fits an 08?

Im pretty sure the USDM stock fogs work with the Euro-r kit

Oh and it's not cool to have Honda everything and still have ACURA labeled on your windows, better change them out

Yea this conversion is going to get expensive fast.

I can just change my airbag cover right?? I dont want to change my steering wheel and loose my Nav controls and what not.

Also, what about the little piece arround my Nav screen, where can I get one that says Honda? I'm thinking thats going to be hard to find...

I never understood the concept of rebadging the Acura with a Honda sign.

fog lights (bulbs and film)

that means you'll need new bulbs and some laminx film.
not the housings and whatnot, yours are fine.

the taillights are different just slightly in JDM.
from what I understand they have a thick piece of amber
plastic in the turn signals, covered by a thin piece of red
for the red look when they're not working.
The USDM tails are just solid red in the turns.

The amber turn signal of the JDM tails is more noticable and
it's a must for a JDM conversion.

There's a EDM (or EUDM) tail light that has a rear fog light
built into it. Or is that the CDM one... it all gets confusing.



If you're going to drop it, you'll need to get JDM coilovers, not the
USDM ones too.


You too have an '08 huh? Then yeah, you'll need to change out your windows
or find some way to remove those Acura stamps.... if possible.

Air bag only? Not sure, I think so though.


Oh, and you'll need to ditch the Acura keys too for sure.
Get some accord ones and program them up.

I believe the whole idea is to have the 'real' car and not one thats a knock off...
the TSX is a knock off...

I'm not going for a show car, so im just going to go simple, do the lip, grill, lights, valve cover, do the steering wheel, nav surrounding piece, door sill, and floor mats...the windows are a little much for me...i hadn't even noticed they said acura in all honesty

in reality, if i wanted to do a real conversion id be looking at a motor swap too...but thats so not happening

but how to i get keys to reprogram? Would I loose my memory seats that respond to the diff key fobs?

You'll also need the Euro R's K20A engine and do a RHD conversion

Seriously... like the posters before me, I also don't understand this full JDM conversion past the point of exterior aesthetic mods (bodykit, headlights, etc) unless this is entirely for show. Your TSX will never be a true Accord Euro R. Do you want to tell the world around you that you acknowledge your car is actually a Honda? Isn't it great enough to know that just yourself?

I admit I'm also getting the Euro R bodykit and sometimes a bit sucker for "JDM" stuff but this is only because JDM looks hell lot better than USDM and I'm not switching everything "Acura" to "Honda".

Its also not about switching everything to be JDM, at least not for me, what it really comes down to is that if I cange one Acura emblem to Honda I have to change them all. (all the ones I see everyday) I'm two anal to know both of them are on my car lol...

And I do agree the JDM stuff looks way hotter! I could make love to those sexy Euro R headlights...

two things i hate: amber and chrome...

but dont get my wrong I'll still be investing some money on the good stuff...

If you are keeping the stock wheels, you also need the Honda logo for the wheels.

USDM foglights work with the 06-08 Euro-R since you have an 08 TSX. Also the radiator cover is not neccessary for the 2006-2008 TSX to fit the 06-08 Euro-R grill only for 04-05 Euro-R grill. I have the the whole entire 2004 Euro-R kit on my car including the grill, tail lights & headlights from a 2006 Euro-R. If you need more help let me know.

They don't sell the JDM foglights for 06-08 because they are the same as OEM, check out Boomplustoys.net they only sell them JDM foglights for 04-05 http://boomplustoys.net/jdm_tsx.shtml Also heeltoe auto doesn't list them either only 04-05 JDM foglights again. Plus I read in this forum someone who installed a Euro-R lip and he stated it was a direct fit with the OEM fogs for 06-08 TSX. I was trying to find the window trim, and the door handles but can't find them anywhere...Anyone know where to order it from??

I have the kit. You do not need JDM foglights. The OEM fogs screw right onto the OEM bumper itself and has has no effect on the lip. The only things that needs to be removed from the bumper is the fog light covers and the black covers next to it and then the lip slips right over the whole bottom part of the bumper.

No, the TSX isn't a knock off. It was based on the euro-r platform, but it's not an attempt to copy the euro-r.

If basing stuff off a former platform (that has proven to be successful) means the new product is a knock off, then I suppose alot of stuff in the world are knock offs...the english language, brand name computers (s7320n, followed by s7330n, stuff like that.), generic labels that claim to use Avery templates, houses in the same area that have the same floor plans, etc. If we avoided using former platforms, stuff will be more expensive (since they'd have to research and develop new platforms), take longer to be designed/built, and we'd probably be living in the stone age still (knowledge is built on previous knowledge...stuff like skyscrapers wouldn't exist).

You're comparing apples with oranges. Knock off...pssh. They might look similiar, but they are different inside (engine-wise, cabin-wise, etc.)

lots of stuff is...I never said the TSX was a bad thing...if I thought that I obviously wouldn't have bought one...but really thats a side note, since i posted this to try to get help on what i needed to do a Euro R conversion...

I still think it'd be cheaper if you made yourself a friend over in Japan who drives a Type-S.. I'm sure they'd die for USDM parts... even trades imo! I hope you can speak Japanese!

I agree.....personally here in the states, Acura is considered the "luxury" brand of Honda and I would like to keep it that way.

i was under the impression that the type-S is what the TSX is because it actually has the K24...the Euro R has a diff motor - just similar body---right? or am i off?

really i think the whole fact honda tries to sell their cars to other countries and charge more cuz there is an acura emblem is stupid. I had a TC before i thought it was dumb Toyota tried to make SCION. my registration said Toyota TC..seriously what was the point.

And Honda has came a long ways from 2 door coupes with altezzas....just remember you'll have a luxury car no matter what it says on the outside- your acura emblem doesnt make your car any nicer.

has anyone ever noticed on the 06-08 the fog lights say honda - nice of them to give us JDM fogs and nothing else.

either way i decieded to go mugen, leave the acura stuff. I'm sorta mugen obessed so it all works out =]

i'm just going to do the euro R lip. and I have to find something to do bout the fogs cuz having them say honda is driving me insane!
